I don't think Budesonide is a biologic, is it? As far as I'm aware it's an expensive steroid that often has many fewer side-effects.

You're correct, budesonide is not a biologic, it is a corticosteroid. "Biologic" was most likely in reference to inflectra / infliximab.

Ah yes, poorly worded sentence. Inflectra was the biologic, whereas budesonide would be an alternative to a systemic corticosteroid such as prednisone.
