> that the momentum behind the Django ecosystem is as stagnant as ever.

Django Rest Framework appeared on Thoughworks radar under Trial this May (https://www.thoughtworks.com/radar/languages-and-frameworks), momentum is anything but stagnant.

I guess A8 chip can not handle 4k streaming or to the good user experience level Apple like. Apple TV uses older chip. It appears A9 in iPhone 6S can handle 4K thus you will see 4K support in next model. Anyway 4K content is not mainstream yet.

We need Google to remove bundling Flash player in Chrome. Chrome for OS X has Flash built-in. Not sure about other build.

My understanding is that Chrome for Flash uses Pepper (a NaCl extension) for its plugin support so its not a vector for attack. You can always turn it off from chrome:plugins.

>plugin support so its not a vector for attack.

I wanna say this is untrue, I vaguely recalling an exploit within the past month or so.

Hacking Team’s Flash 0-day: Potent enough to infect actual Chrome user

Appears to be still cooking in the lab. Similar to Ara and also Glass. Sounds like a research project that needs not answer the business question of how to make money. IBM, Microsoft, Apple likes to keep theirs secretive. Google likes to showcase.

Microsoft Research[1] is hardly secretive for things that are cooking in the lab[2]

I prefer their method, it's nice to see what their R&D looks like.

While I think there's a lot of possible ways that this can make money in the future, there are some that are just so obvious that it doesn't really compare to other research projects that are more of a departure. The ability to control our digital devices using input devices built into clothing and furniture is just obviously compelling.

Also, this isn't exactly new...Burton did something similar over a decade ago: (http://content.time.com/time/specials/packages/article/0,288...)

Advertising. Wearing a specific brand of clothing will impact what your Google search results contain.

Edit: To the downvoters: Why? Am I wrong? Are you Google employees?

I am an employee, but I down voted it because it's dumb.

Yup, that's a fucking scary-but-very-likely thought.

In China it is pretty standard to use 70后(后=after), 80后 (born 1980-1989), 90后 (born 1990-1999) etc to describe the age of a person. Instead of "he is forty-something", you say "he is 70后". "Born in the 70s" might be a little lost in translation.

Same in former Yugoslavia. I am 70's generation - as in born in 70's.

Here's PyCon2015 talk on how to call Rust from Python: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3CwJ0MH-4MA

Not weird but common. For Chinese family who uses 3 letter names, the boys will use the same second-letter in their name, the girls will use the same but different second-letter. Example Lee Hsien Loong and Lee Hsien Yang. So at home their parents probably call them Ah Loong or Ah Yang when they were kids. You can call him Loong if you're close to him or his senior relatives or his teachers. Chinese in south-east-asia still prevalently uses 3-letter name. But in China, more people have two-letter name.

Nowadays most of younger generations' Chinese use 3 letter names again.

Apple most likely will release a new Thunderbolt Display (probably with name change, Apply Display?) that can act as USB-C hub. It is not ready I guess, this new MacBook also is available about one month later.

I bet someone is planning to write a Markdown editor using React Native. Maybe a text editor is a good test if React Native app can be as good as native app.

I brought a friend to watch The Hobbit in HFR. He very much a care less and very non technical person. After the show he asked me why the movie not look like a movie but TV video. He said the mountains looked plain, not as grand like in LOTR.
