Notion just launched Notion Sites. This is in direct competition to 3rd party Notion website builders like Super, Potion, Feather, Bullet, SimpleInk, HelpKit, and my product Sotion.

Now the question becomes differentiation... Here's my take...

Notion Sites: Will become the standard for simple sites like Personal sites, Event pages, Travel guides, Job boards, etc.

Super: Has an edge with advanced styling and brand customization options.

Potion, SimpleInk, Bullet: Not much differentiation from Notion Sites.

Feather, HelpKit: Niched down to focus on Blogs + Newsletters, and Help Docs, I think this will work out well for them.

Sotion: On par with Notion Sites, with the addition of advanced Membership Management capabilities, including: Password Protection, Email Sign Up, Restricted Email List Access, Paid Memberships, and Integration via API and webhooks.

The move by Notion can be seen as positive for the whole space, but it will definitely take potential business from all 3rd party apps.

Keen to hear your thoughts.

Integrate and automate memberships on your Notion website using Zapier and the Sotion Members API.

The pricing reflects how many sites you can create at that price point, such that it becomes cheaper per site as you move up in range.

And thanks for the tip:) I updated the title accordingly.

I was more curious about what data you had behind “17” was it market data driven, just a number you like that you’re testing out?

I wanted the highest plan (Business $96pm) to be less than $100, and wanted to offer 5 sites on the middle (Pro) plan.

Then calculated the cost per site and offered the max I could within those boundaries.

Not that scientific, but max value to price.

I created a tool that lets you add a Gumroad paywall to your Notion content. Would work well for courses, paid memberships, community assets, etc.

I added a new feature to my app, Cloakist, that allows your to add custom <head> or <body> Javascript to your Notion page. With the app you can host your Notion page at your own domain and inject custom JS + CSS.

Keen to hear your thoughts on this. Happy to answer any questions:)
