This article keeps describing how much password sharing and piracy cost but is only proposing a solution for password sharing without talking about which issue is bigger. For all we know piracy might be 99% of the problem.

tl;dr: First 5 pages to show he understands why law enforcement wants to weaken security, last 2 disagreeing because cybersecurity and nation state threats are the bigger risk.

I love they can just use google docs and publish a "site" like this so easily to share. No html required. I hope Google doesn't start getting political and pulling these kinds of docs.

Their website [0] was registered and online 4 days after it happened.

As such I don't think they have to rely solely on google docs to publish their stuff.

It sort of relies on the goodwill of Google’s excess server capacity when the document becomes popular, but I think it’s a small price to pay in showing solidarity.

Plus in many ways, it’s also free advertisement for Docs and Google as a whole. “Our platform is so scalable, we can easily make a single Google Doc support the web traffic of almost the entire internet.”

Very brave @blitzchungHS hope your message is heard.

Nobody coerced her. She is autistic in a way that makes her unable to ignore the truth. Without the same filters of ignorance and denial that most of us have she is suffering more than most people.

I think we are all suffering somewhat trying to deal with this truth and work out how to find our place in the solution.

>Nobody coerced her. She is autistic in a way that makes her unable to ignore the truth.

does being autistic in that manner (your diagnosis, not mine) also give oneself free access to the worlds' media outlets and financial support to trot the globe at 16 years old, or could that be one of the so-called coercers'?

I'm absolutely against climate change, and on her side of the opinion, but to ignore the fact that she's being propped up as a media object is silly. Could you have had her impact at 16 without support from others? I bet not, unless you're really extraordinary.

In Australia I have always respectfully told the truth. It is no secret some companies have terrible management and IMO It can come across well to the type of employers you might want to work for. In this situation I might say something like - "Well I had some great ideas on ways that we might improve our technology stack but unfortunately the manager there seemed threatened by my ideas and shot them down without further discussion. In the end this friction seems to have lead to them deciding to let me go. I learnt a lot from my time there and look forward thriving in a more constructive environment!"

Just make it an option duh!

But it was an option wasn't it?

You could write in draft mode I think, and people couldn't see the result

Does advertising do anything - if it doesn't why do companies spend so much money on it?

This is basically a type of pro health advertising. We have anti smoking advertising which has shown to be effective (https://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-03-19/australias-plain-pack...).

I think with a good advertisement strategy it can be very effective.

I wrote a blog about this a long time ago here: http://debugreality.blogspot.com/2010/03/hidden-dangers-of-w...

It basically boils down to understanding the negative effects of your work and taking responsibility for your mental well being by countering them which is where work life balance come from.

If you look at America like a giant company then the American dream was somewhat alike to company vision statement. Having a vision statement like that seems to have helped a lot in the past, perhaps better than companies with no vision. One of the biggest issues with these kind of top level visions is they are pretty much set forever and even if they are not working anymore it is extremely hard to replace them with something else.

But perhaps it's time to start trying?
