Hey! Thanks for the comment. I built this primarily for myself bc I'm a slow reader (dyslexic ). Anyone who gravitates towards audiobooks or podcasts can basically use this to power through online content they'd rather listen to than read.
Shortly after launching a second customer audience emerged though... people who have newsletters or blogs and want to "convert" these into companion Podcasts. So I've been shipping some improvements to make that possible and have found a slightly stronger signal (more $$ too) from this group.
Ultimately I want this to become a research tool as well, so you can just specify the topics you are interested in and PodStash will give you a daily/weekly episode keeping you informed on that topic.
Many of my creations are "run-of-the-mill" B2B solutions: rewarding to develop but not necessarily exhilarating to use. PodStash, however, has been a joy. Listening to narratives on historical events, such as the Great Chicago Fire, has been genuinely entertaining. The background about how xenophobia led to the blaming of the fire on poor Mrs. O'Leary's cow, for instance, was captivating. I take pride in launching the V1 MVP in just 9 days, inclusive of designing the logo and landing pages. This timeline perhaps underscores AI's potential in aiding developers more than it highlights my prowess, but it's thrilling to realize an idea in such a short span.
Products that harness the power of large language models often yield intriguing results. Unexpectedly, I discovered PodStash's aptitude for generating near-perfect translations in various languages. Partnering with a voice synthesizer like ElevenLabs ensures impeccable pronunciation in these translations. This feature shines for those learning a new language or seeking to enhance domain-specific vocabulary—imagine translating finance-centric articles from Bloomberg, Reuters, or FT into your mother tongue.
