I'm piggy backing on this.

I still have found my holy grail : a kind of knowledge management software where I could just stuff things probably with tags. Not only links (I have pinboard for that) but ideas, snippets of knowledge etc.

This would be online (not necessarily self-hosted) and I'm willing to pay for that.

Accessible via smartphones and potentially with an email gateway would be great.

I don't think mindmapping software fit the bill. I really would like tag and/or full-text search.

Wikis come close but it's quite cumbersome to add a piece of info.

My Gmail inbox basically works like that... I send mails to self if I want to store links.

Evernote seems to meet each of these requirements.

Yes, from what I heard, it could be a good fit, but I only see negative comments about evernote so ... :)

I lost countless hours reading the archives of The Internet Oracle : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internet_Oracle

I'm actually wary of woodchucks because of that now :D

I think the more relevant functionality is called in France "e-carte bleue" : https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paiement_sur_Internet#La_e-car... (Sorry, only in French).

You generate a fake card number, this number is linked with an expiration date AND a maximal amount that can be charged.

The quality of the service varies between banks though, I remember my previous bank who forced me to go over a sketchy-looking website and use a Flash applet to generate the card...

AFAIK it's not possible to create a card with a monthly chargeable maximum amount, only to set the total amount for the card's lifetime, which limits the interest of the use for recurring payments.

Might be too late, but I couldn't find a "staging area" like in SourceTree.

Does it exist or is it like a lot of other git GUI with no separation between staged and not staged files/hunks ?

I don't know about Shaarli, but yes, Wallabag is a read it later service, not a bookmarking one.

You can self-host or use a hosted version here (that's what I do) : https://framabag.org/

How do you think it compares to the Chip ?

Arduboy: 16MHz AVR microcontroller, 32KB flash, 1KB EEPROM, 2.5KB SRAM, 6 buttons, 128x64 display.

CHIP: 1GHz ARM Cortex-R8 CPU, 512MB RAM, 4GB onboard flash, 802.11bgn+bluetooth 4.0, composite video output.

They're very different computers.

CHIP is a plain old Debian box. Arduboy is an Arduino.

Because you don't think it's also true the other way around ?

Of course, that's apparently how the game is played. I assumed the French are spying on the Germans and every one else they can install malware on. They just don't have the resources like the NSA.

The NSA enjoys a workforce 20 times larger (60,000 vs 3,000), and a budget 40 times bigger (US $50 Billions). Even the GCHQ (UK) & UNIT 8200 (Israel) have twice more resources.

The NSA probably think its adorable when the French pop up on one of their honeypot servers.

Sure, but you were talking about Germany previously.

Same in France, probably most of Europe actually

In German it was broadcasted for free too.

Yeah, except a community effort would have never solved the problem of PFC in the atmosphere for instance.

I don't think all those efforts are mutually exclusive you know :)

Yes, same in France
