Seriously? Those videos look like they were made with Blender

Quite possibly. All of the propaganda films I've seen in the last decade look like they were generated and staged on a very low budget and in a hurry.

A few days ago I went to cancel mine and it just said they'd give me a free month instead so I said OK. I thought it was funny all the patterns to keep you on

woofwoof

From everyone needs to "Learn to code" to "Just have your dog vibe code it"

I kind of despise that part about nightshift, since i almost always like to keep it at medium anytime indoors and during winter. But in the later evening I want it max, and when i got to bed i want it even more. And ive always despised flux for that too. It's even worse since a lot of times i sleep in two phases each night and it doesnt allow to change the length of night time. So dumb.

In a way it's mildly frustrating, but also slightly insane to me that some of these things are so limiting in control. I cant just be given a simple on/off toggle? There is a project manager(s), paid millions collectively that sit in a room and decide "No, you cannot keep nightshift on, it will turn off at 7 AM every morning." Like... WTF.

Stuff like this just keeps on getting worse and worse - and more and more common.

Ive created shortcuts to jump directly to night settings and a shortcut to enable color filters. Still...

Can’t f.lux be controlled from the command line? I seem to recall it can.

If so, you should be able to cron it to do whatever you want.

I was using redshift on Linux for a while and had some aliases set to trigger various settings.

Ive never been aware of that and when I look it's just forum posts of people asking more than once with no reply.

I can’t quite reach a Mac from where I’m sitting at the minute, maybe someone can try invoking f.lux from the command line.

You just have to click on "Feeds" then you can filter to friends, groups, or pages you follow. That said they have been slowly burying where you can click on "feeds" to get there, so I just bookmark them. I never look at the main page it's just pure garbage.

I will say facebook ads are the most relevant ads ever for me. I click on them all the time because they're actually interesting to me. But at the same time all the products/clothing is so expensive I never convert.

What I dont like is Alerts becoming just another feed to fill with spam and not real notifications.

Time for an upgrade buddy. I need my 32 chunk render distance when i play java, personally. A 10+ year old chromebook would not be cutting it - but it doesn't take much either if your simulation distance is low.

I almost switched to pixel before getting my new 17 pro max. I feel like im just constantly fighting the ios keyboard or having to type so slowly and carefully but it still is screwing up. I have a pixel 8a and Im shocked how quickly I can type on it while constantly tip toeing and fighting the ios keyboard.

It's ironic because my first iphone i used was a 4s and i was pleasantly surprised how nice it was to type on after using samsung phones. Now it's like the tables have turned. Im constantly fighting the ios keyboard. Sometimes when i tap and get the wrong character i will move my thumb to where i would have had to type to get that wrong character and i know for sure i did not move my thumb that far away from the character i actually wanted and thought i tapped on. Im honestly shocked how bad typing on ios has become. i got a pixel 8a just to amuse myself and i was again totally surprised how fast and easy the typing was. something is going rotten inside apple.

even controlling when the keyboard appears and when you want it to go away is frustrating on ios. i find the little universal down arrow on the pixel phones much better.

I've also debated Android because there are cheaper phones that, ostensibly, don't suck—and can run non-Google-ized not-spying-on-you Android.

Exactly my thought as well. Im considering trying graphene now that I have one myself.

Is it really landmark tho? First it was nicotine and big tobacco, then the same addiction engineers designed ultra processed foods. Kraft, nabisco, etc all spun off by tobacco companies... Normalizing food addiction in children. And now it's screens and social media. It's the same fundamental physiology but it seems like society can't learn a lesson either.

I thought it was kind of pathetic how quickly they shoved ipads into schools with no real long term data, no research whatsoever. Just insane really. And now here we are yet again.

f*ck around and find out is my assumption of what they meant.

Mine also - worthy of note is currently those ouside the US are responding to US actions with FAFO, at the same time those within the US are responding to Federal overreach with the same attitude, hence the repurposing of the FLA (Four Letter Acronym).

What do you mean, concretely?

It seems to me like other countries are cautiously responding to threats of invasion and sudden tariffs. They did not wake up one day and randomly decided to divest from the United States.

The government overreach part I cannot comment on. From my limited point of view I see ICE and overturning Roe vs Wade, but I don't pay attention to US domestic politics.

> What do you mean, concretely?

I refer to two things:

* Internal to the US citizens are responding FAFO to the US Federal governments recent actions against specific states, and secondly to

* the "FAFO" comment made by @nixass above who appears to be European (by an extremely brief glance at comment history made once two hours ago).

I assume that comment refers to many countries now exploring other options for trade in response to the US actions since January 2025. Other allied relationships are also morphing in the face of the US no longer being seen as a reliable stable partner.

Oh that makes a lot more sense. My initial read was almost the polar opposite of this.
