So it's using the GPT-3 API, so yes, don't send anything sensitive! It doesn't taylor it based on your OS but that's actually a really neat idea, something I'll look to add. For now though, you can just write "how do I x on mac?" and it should work.

Hey guys, I've created a really small tool that converts natural language into terminal commands using GPT3. To my chagrin, I seem to have a pathological inability to remember commands so I'm hoping this may help others suffering from such a terrible affliction.

I would actually be interested in trying this out, but the things pointed out here have got me holding off for now: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=30721983

Might be worth giving the website/messaging a once-over

When I first read this comment I assumed it was someone sarcastically pretending to be the creator and not the actual creator, and I thought, what a dick... LOL

Looks neat! I've already been using github copilot which I've found brings some more joy into coding (even when it's a little off).

This is fascinating.

Is the input to oh-heck the complete GPT-3 prompt. Or is there something else added to it before sending to GPT-3?

Is there any specific training used for this task? Or just off the shelf GPT-3?

Yea, it's not the full prompt, I've been gradually training it over the last couple of weeks. It still needs work though as it's quite rudimentary at the moment. Something I intend to focus on going forward.

Hey HN. I wanted to do a write up about handling scrutiny when you suffer from imposter syndrome. I know it's something that affects a lot of people and it can be really difficult to deal with, especially when you're under some heat. So I did a little post-mortem of how I managed and recovered from a particularly bad spell. I hope this helps anyone else who's experienced similar feelings, I know a lot of people I've worked with in the past struggle to talk about things like this.

Mike

Did she reveal that the typewriter actually identified as a satsuma?

Hey HN,

We've built a platform that allows you to make web apps, games, mobile apps etc. whilst working from the comfort of your own home, with teammates, on a fair and equitable profit-sharing scheme (video overview here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q7ooZGyqflY)

We just launched our Kanban feature which we're hoping will allow projects on the platform to increase their productivity ten-fold, so thought we'd do a big launch and shout about it a little. Would appreciate an upvote on https://producthunt.com if you have the time.

Anyway, I'm floating about all day if you have any questions or feedback.

Mike

Hey guys,

With everything going on in the world, I know a lot of people are now stuck at home, unable to leave. As someone who works from home, it's not an issue for me, but I know there are those that will struggle.

Because of this, I thought I'd open up my web platform, https://crowdsourcer.io, that allows people to create projects together remotely and rev-share in a fair way. We're going to be releasing some premium features over the next week or so but I've decided to keep them free until the world goes back to normal. I'll also automatically apply, to all projects, a reduction to processing fees if you use our selling tools (if you sell outside of the platform then any payment processing is done at cost price anyway so it's about as good a deal as possible).

I hope this encourages some of you to not miss the opportunity to get cracking on any software-related ideas you've been meaning to work on, whilst you're stuck at home.

If you have any questions about how it works or how to use it I'm active on Reddit, so feel free to leave a comment or message me.

Hey guys. I've been working on this on and off for a few years with a couple of others. It's essentially a model that merges Crowdfunding and Open Source in that it allows people to invest their time & expertise (rather than money) into projects that interest them and collaborate with others on those projects and share the profits between themselves.

It's quite cool because it's not really been done before. So as the value of users' contribution grows, tracked by points like sprint/story points and whatnot the proportion of the share of the profits you get increases. We provide all the tools to distribute the money to everyone in a project + project management tools, a peer review system etc. etc.

The aim is to enable developers, programmers and engineers (etc.) to create equitable and autonomous projects, keeping money, investors and banks out of your projects so you can focus on collaborating and building without having to quit your job, hire a team, compromise on ambition, deal with investors/investment nor piss around with payment processing and regulations.

Hey, could you elaborate a little more? Where are you seeing this?

Hey, thanks for applying. I appreciate that. Sent you a couple of messages on the platform :)
