Throwing another answer in for Instapaper. It’s not as new and flashy as something like Readwise or Matter, but also doesn’t try to do too much.

Killer features of Instapaper for me include the kindle digest and IFTTT integration (which I use to mirror my archived articles to Raindrop.io)

Jeez, I moved from Instapaper _to_ Pocket many years ago.

I don’t use Instapaper as much as I used to when I had an iPod touch on the subway, but I’m a subscriber. Happy to support the indie effort.

I read the book. It’s something that comes up & happens multiple times, and the potential meetings being described are with various global heads of state.

While her boss continues to sexually harass her? Doesn’t sound like a mistake to me. There’s more to life than money, as the author makes quite clear throughout the book, IMO.

Bazqux Reader for the actual service, “Reeder” on both macOS and iOS for the client I use.

I tried WriteFreely (and some of their other stuff) a year or so ago, but found it to be a little too limited for what I was trying to achieve with my personal sites (as a layman/non-web-dev). Ended up using https://Blot.im/ very happily, with my photosite being the personal example I've put the most time into: https://ristrettoshots.com/

Edit pages mostly in regular markdown (+ a few simple Blot-specific tags), drop some images into a Dropbox folder, done. Site built. :)

I have a Boox tablet from a few years ago that I'm still using sporadically, and can't quite justify replacing yet, but if I was in the market this would be very, very appealing. Congrats to the team on the launch! :)
