The metric conversion works fine for the ingredient list. But I noticed that it does not convert unit that are used in the instructions. For example when the instructions contain "preheat the oven to 350ºF", it does not get converted.

They might not use the hold by physically touching it, but they might still use it as a visual indicator of where the other holds are in relation. These competitors are used to the same layout for many years. If there is a slight misrepresentation it can surely put them off.
I recently found nc-photos [1] which also aims to reproduce the Google Photos UX. It does its own indexing so it is a bit faster than the Nextcloud Photo Gallery but probably way slower than Photoprism. The main advantage of nc-photos is that no software installation on your server is required. It just works as a mobile app with an existing Nextcloud instance.
