Unfortunately you need half of this. Just listen and understand what other say don't go over it. Don't think you have it all right. Work hard keep your head down, but look for the options.
There is a lot of stuff to say to go kill it, but not. To kill it you have to be exceptional and usually people are not exceptional. Unfortunate is most people will think the6 are exceptional and fail.
Also as you get older your possibilities to get sick go up. So maybe that person had sick leave more often this year. Maybe other person had family issues this year and year ago it was great for them. Some people might have worse periods. But for HR you are just as good as your last 6 months...
I wonder where do you get those mentoring managers with one on ones. Coaching and all thut stuff. No one has time to do it.
It is always: here is your job that are requirements. No meaningful one on ones.
It is not only in work, I just all life have to figure out taxes, relationships, learning, work. What is even better when I was trying to pay for advice of accountant they did not take my money and no advice. I got advice from attorney but it was useless, I figured out later on my own.
Oh I got some advice from relatives like uncle or grandma but that was like outdated and totally not true anymore. Almost got fined for trying to apply that.
So my point is no one cares about one on ones and mentoring, and someones advice on life or carreer because probably they still have to figure all on their own, and they think they are smarter. so better keep track of tickets and that stuff is rolling, keep obstackles away from team and don't say yes to everything.
