It is distinctly non-trivial. Likely part of the reason why it remains possible. Chasing down bugs is the unavoidable result, but to a geek it's manageable. MicroG works very well once sorted. It is however astonishing how much processing power Play Services gobbles up. A de-googlefied phone lasts 30-40% longer on a charge. Once done, it works like a breeze. 3-4 year old flagships Androids are titans when de-googled and with custom roms.

Les Miserables as a novel is a massive oeuvre, with perhaps only Tolstoy's War&Peace as its equal. The novel succeeds in painting the story on a much larger canvas and does so superbly. The part about Waterloo however is needlessly French-patriotic, although still a valuable account. An excellent, more accurate and detailed book about Waterloo is the one written by Bernard Cornwell. It is words that still convey abstract reflexions or concepts/method more aptly and concise than VR or multi-media I think.

Isn't it true that Ukraine has never been an independent state except since the fall of the USSR? In its history? Except for 2 weeks after WWII? It has always been a fertile land, agrarian, impossible to defend due to no natural boundaries, its people of fiercely independent mind, yet, having been rolled over by Poles, Russians, Vikings, Norsman repeatedly and periodically throughout history? That would be the context. I would even go as far as saying that Donbass and Crimea are not to be counted as Ukraine, historically?

Most of your claims are false. And for argument sake if they were true, let's face it: Ukraine not only was independent since 1991, but it's territory integrity was guaranteed by Russia and USA.

I would only request that it should be viewed in context of its history. Especially if we might decide to enshrine the world in more war over it. It is in its current state a construct, without a foundation. To reach peace, a compromise must be reached.

'I would only request that it should be viewed in context of its history.' THE context of its history is that Ukraine was independent longer than the USA exists. And even despite that fact, the post-soviet era requires borders to be intact in order to reach peace. If we'll let this go, that would mean that it is 'ok' to invade countries and we would fall down back into world wars times. *And by invading countries, I mean grabbing someone's else land and declaring it your own.

It's mostly a question. How can you declare a question false?

ok, let me show you an example of a false question: Isn't it true that the USA is a dictatorship?

It's an independent state now. Should the U.S. be rolled over by Russia, given that it's only existed for a couple hundred years?

The U.S. had to emancipate from a perceived oppressor by forging alliances, engage in deception, and by defeating the enemy. In the end, that's what it all boils down to. Raising the specter of a giant guilt-trip wasn't gonna work for U.S.

So, it's not aggression if everyone else does it?

the world is based on aggression, unfortunately. To just pretend this is not so only makes things worse. A prognosis must include a proper diagnosis. Currently all that's being done by either side is using it as a ping-pong ball, that's how it has been for recent history (1.5 millenia?). Declaring Ukraine a state seems not much more than a paper-tiger. Nothing of what I said or say is meant to justify aggression or bloodshed.

Instead I can recommend Victor Hugo's Les Miserables, or to understand presently overwhelmed United States: Cervantes' Don Quixote. Both much less stale and dry in their prose, but incredibly more insightful.

there is no Sioux. it's a name the french gave them when they supplied them with guns and whiskey to fan a counter-insurgency. Sitting Bull was a Humpapa Indian.

I have thus far failed to get an answer from anyone as to what the revenue of this tax, albeit tiny, is being used for. As it stands it just pads the grocer's bottom line. Whereas it should be used to fund research and protecting the environs. But everyone is mum. At least in California.

It isn't a tax. It's a minimum price. The money goes to the grocer.

The bill also required a 10 cent minimum
charge for recycled paper bags, reusable
plastic bags, and compostable bags ...

It the UK most shops donate it to charity.

Its a silly attitude to deny development. There is plenty of room for more people, on the planet, in LA.Just get organized.I live in Venice but friends in Hollywood I see maybe 4 times a year because driving is numbing. Robocars are gonna improve things greatly. That said, LA is full of itself. You will pay through the nose for property that shouldvbe torn down, yet you are not allowed to. I am a Euro transplant and I have travelled the U.S.for the past dozen years and there is hardly a bad spot anymore. You get great food, culture, people many many places. Madison WI, Bozeman, Raleigh, Detroit even, even Texas. Lot of people are stuck in LA molasses.
