I have no thoughts on whether it's actually fake, but it can be to appear financially healthy / boost company image, to gather resumes, to gather information about the job market, to comply with internal policies that say jobs most be posted externally even when planning to promote internally, etc.
Norway has an insane sovereign wealth fund worth 3x GDP that they can only withdraw 3% from per year and that oil sales go into (as they’re basically self sufficient on hydroelectricity), they own 1.5% of all global equities. Their pension system is probably the strongest in the world.
How do you guys do coding assessments nowadays with AI?
I don’t mind if applicants use it in our tech round but if they do I question them on the generated code and potential performance or design issues (if I spot any) - but not sure if it’s the best approach (I mostly hire SDETs so do a ‘easy’ dev round with a few easy/very easy leet code questions that don’t require prep)
Hypocrisy or not, the US government has managed to make this work for a long time now, the Biden administration just proves the point. Thankfully, other countries are starting to catch up to this scam.
Yes , to be fair , As a foreigner (not a US citizen basically) I don't mean to offend somebody. But USA just seems to be build on top of Hypocrisy.
Like the fact that US revolution was basically kickstarted by blatantly breaking the patent law (like there was this one mill specifically) , I think its a historic event. And now here we are ! The scam of national security.
To be honest. People seem to be really kind on the fall of USA. I am not that interested since the rise of China terrifies me. But the hypocrisy of USA / losing such soft power (like here I am , from random country critiquing USA based on facts , it really downplays it being a superpower) that would be the downfall of USA.
To me , the future terrifies me. In fact the present terrifies me. I think the world is running crazy or maybe its just me.
> Like the fact that US revolution was basically kickstarted by blatantly breaking the patent law...
Hollywood also started by using non-regulation / non-licensed movie equipment when nobody was looking.
So, USA has all this "move fast, break things, and monopolize the new thing so hard that no one can get near" mentality since forever, and this moves in cycles.
It's now AIs turn, but it turned out that they democratized the world so hard, so everybody can act fast now.
In nature, nobody can stay at the top forever. People should understand this.
I thought the same, but an open question for me (now) is what happens if you eat 3000 calories of protein and 3000 calories of fat or even carbohydrate. You have sufficient calories that your body doesn't need to metabolize protein for energy, but what happens to all the excess protein you consumed?
I assumed the excess protein would be undigested, but can't back that up with a citation.
RE: "6 to 9 lb of cheese, sticks of butter, and additional fat incorporated into his daily hamburgers"
This implies a daily intake of hamburgers (presumably ground meat only if it's a strict carnivore diet) with 6-9 pounds of butter and cheese extra per day? Is that time frame correct? Is there an approximate daily kcal for that? A pound of butter is 3200 calories, while a pound of mozzarella is 1200.
A good friend of mine did this; not so much cheese I think but loads of cream, butter, and meat. He ended up with cardiac arrest, followed by sepsis due to an operation. He's mostly ok now though.
