I've imagined having an OLED screen which only flashes on momentarily. Could be used for writing without editing.

I've imagined like an OLED/ePaper hybrid for that application.

Or e-ink display. Unfortunately those are quite pricey compared to LCD

rLCD is probably more effecient, and much more readable under good light, the memory lcd in the picture also has epaper-like retention capabilities.

As is commonly known, the Buddha taught that there is the high path, the middle path, and the meth path.

You're onto something: "middle path" -> "mid-path" -> "mipath" -> "meth"

Besides cost today, may also help mitigate a possible helium shortage in the future.

Also: MRI@Home?

Walter Bright had a similar looking zed.exe, at least as part of Zortech C++.

Jef Raskin: "Intuitive" == familiar.

User never used/discovered it before == not familiar.
