Its getting very annoying to see all these linkbait articles being posted to HN

I don't think that word means what you think it means.

I did not "post a linkbait article", If I wanted to post a linkbait article I would have not put it on a free, ad-less site that has zero use for me outside of it's use for everyone else... I posted it in an ad-free pastebin because I don't want it to be linkbait.

The results are terrible, even using actual names from models gets you random results.

I even tried kurt cobain on "Destroyer of childhoods" mode and didn't get even one copy of the infamous coroner's picture.

On google is on top of all result with safesearch off.

You've answered your own question in that last sentence - if Google isn't filtering it using safesearch then it won't appear on Filther

Please! Both Zuck and Schmidt go a long way and spend extraordinary amounts of money to safeguard their privacy.

If there is one thing Zuck has said that was true was calling his users "dumb fucks" for uploading all their private information.

I don't think he was referring to all his users. I use Facebook, and I don't upload all my private information. Just the stuff I don't mind the whole world seeing. I think that someone who just uploads everything is at the very least naive, I might even go so far as to call them "dumb fucks" in certain contexts.

You do know that your buddy robespierre is far closer to fanatics like the chinese and radical islamists than is it to liberalism? after all the guy sent anyone who opposed him to the guillotine, he was the architect of the reign of terror in france and it didn't end until he got his head cut.

Why don't use actual real-life cases of similar people, like FDR?

The whole of Europe basically declared war on France when Robespierre was in charge. He wasn't looking for another excuse to kill a few thousand people. He couldn't have having traitors in this circumstance. People forget about historical circumstances when talking about Robespierre. He wasn't looking for excuses to kill people like Stalin. He really had no choice, the spies of these 6 countries really were there, and the country was also on the verge of civil war. And big chunks of French elites supported the outside interventions to restore monarchy. How you deal with that? By talking about gay rights? And Robespierre did know that he will die in the process. When you read him, he says it openly - I know the process will swallow me - he accepted that. All I'm saying is, this is what we need now, if we don't want to continue on this path of cultural suicide.

So was Stalin, are you going to defend him as well?

Stalin was looking for excuses to kill people. For example in 1937 - way before World War 2 started in Europe - he ordered murdering of all officers in the Red Army. If I remember exactly over 30,000 people were killed. There was no enemy for Russia at that time. There was no war going on. Nothing. Just Stalin's paranoia.

Robespierre on the other hand was governing France that was on a verge of a civil war: monarchists vs. republicans/liberals/democrats. He was governing France that was in state of war with basically whole of Europe. Six foreign powers if I remember correctly attacked France at the same time trying to restore the monarchy. With monarchist in France - French people - supporting the foreign powers. You tell me there is no difference? Please elaborate.

9 out of 10 accelerators out there are bad copies of ycombinator made by greedy (and cheap) investors trying to ride the startup gravytrain like in the dotcom years and/or desperate politicians trying to get some of that sweet gentrification SF complains so much about.

I was unfortunate enough to land in a combination of BOTH: the accelerator was made by investors with literally ZERO experience with technology companies who were extremely cheap, and a local government that wasted taxpayer's money on it. I say waste because most of the money went to friends and family of the investors/organizers who didn't put a dime out of their collective pockets but went ahead and hired each other (and each other's acquaintances) to fill mentor roles within the accelerator.

What a joke that was, we got literally nothing out of the experience, we lost precious time having to deal with all the bullshit they made us go through. Contacts? they were nobodies, so no rolodex magic for us. Press? again, a bunch of nobodies, all press we got was BYO, in fact the accelerator mooched off our existing contacts with tech blogs and got some coverage for themselves.

Because the "investors" were cheapstakes along for the ride nobody got any investments from that network, only one team which secured a line of credit from a local no-name bank thanks to the local government (again more taxpayer money).

There should be a tripadvisor for accelerators, there was no way we could know what we were getting into.

Hey! are you on my Country?

Recently declared as "the most innovate-foster culture of Latin America" or something like that.

But is also WORSE. You need to spend 6 months, half-time attending talks, filling stuff and more or less wasting time... all for the chance to finally meet the investor.

Is a great business for the "accelerators" that are giving US20.000 for each startup (they "Value"), but only US 2.000 in cash, for the kind of thing THEY decide to buy (and no startup accelerator program here help in pay salaries, ie, the people you truly need. Is for buy business cards. Seriously).

The time I waste on that is one of the things I regret more. Saddly, you don't know the full terms UNTIL you have "win" in the top 100 of 1000, get pass the interview, fill stuff then get to the point of get that amazing benefits.
