Tengent: how's the steam deck compatibility? Reaktor looks fun but it's the only game device I currently use (I'm keeping my laptop strictly game-free)
EDIT: top steam review says the reviewer primarily plays the game on their Steam Deck, so I guess it's good
It's a meme at this point. People who don't know anything about programming (lex fridman): "It's revolutionary. People with no programming skills can create entire apps." People who program for a living: "It can reproduce variants of code that have been implemented already 1000s of times, and... nothing else".
I love beavers!! They don’t just build the dams, but the also change the rivers into special types of ponds that their favorite food grows in (green leafy shoots). So they don’t just build a house but also a farm! So cool!!!
OpenGameArt has a section for music[0], itch.io also has a bunch of free music assets[1], but do check the license before using them. I use these often and there's some surprisingly great tracks there.
Today I learned that mitochondria are the only organelles that replicate “on their own” inside a cell, while the other organelles just bud off the preexisting ones. I wonder how they are signaled to do so though.
Reminds me of sea slugs that eat plants and then integrate their chloroplasts to produce energy, or my dad who kept swapping the same Honda motor through all our go karts because it was too good to get rid of.
The danger is part of the appeal. When somebody gives you a mushroom called "the sickener," which is apparently edible with an appropriate combination of brining, fermentation, soaking, rinsing, and boiling, it's a little hard to resist the temptation to prove everyone else wrong and turn it into a tasty treat.
