This is pretty cool!

Exclusive inside Apple’s audio lab where the company is taking on hearing loss https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vOkiDwH98sE

IIRC the title was CRDTs go brrr

Author here. CRDTs go brrr was my working title and it’s still in the url. I should probably rename it back to that - so many people latch on to that title anyway. The meme value is strong.

The website reflects all their arrogance.

Source?

This looks very promising. What's the license?

You need the latest version of the Ring app to be able to see that setting and it’s super sluggish (on purpose?). It took several seconds to open the Sidewalk page after I tapped on the menu item, no spinner, no feedback, it felt like it was bugged.

I thought Rome was a Facebook internal project. Am I missing something here?

It's also a java framework for parsing RSS and Atom. I bet that there are more ways that lead to Rome :-)

Parent comment was talking about this specific Rome project. And he is indeed right, it was a Facebook project at the earliest stage, but moved out of it when Seb left FB.

This is that facebook project though (not just the same name), see here: https://github.com/rome/tools/blob/main/website/src/blog/pos...

Seems like the author could take it with him when leaving facebook, which is nice.

$90 billion in buybacks is insane. IIRC analysts were expecting something between $70-$80 billion.

Asking for a financially challenged friend, what are buybacks?

Stock buybacks. A company uses it's cash to buy it's own stock, reducing the number of outstanding shares. Tends to increase the stock price.

I wonder what happened to turbotaxsucksass.com, it was listing a bunch of free alternatives and it mysteriously expired right before tax season began.

It was set up for Hasan Minhaj's show, and the show was cancelled. Since it was set up right before previous "tax season" I'm assuming they'd just paid for a year.

It's in archive.org, though, e.g. [1], and it's just a static site with a bunch of links.
