Too many startups doing developer tools? And HN is the best place to each to the developers? GitHub could become a good developer focused social network, until then HN is the best:)

There is Mar5000, a list of 5000 marketing related tools. Now this number if approaching to 8000, so I'd agree, lack of tools is not an issue.

My suggestion is to announce a hackathon with sweat amount and brainstorm ideas on how to make money with the current state. Disabling printers is not a smart move, this will force people to look for workarounds.

I believe, this has become a big industry. Fake comments are everywhere.
