I use org-mode for note taking and personal knowledge base.

In my notes.org file, I collect all kind of snippets, knowledge, ideas, how-tos, and such stuff.

Outlines make it possible to hide parts of the text in the buffer.

A headline starts with one or more stars. A heading has one star, a sub-heading two, etc.

Use the linking feature in ordmode to link items/notes together through references.

Stick with a "File over app", Unix approach. You need to first rely on a directory structures, filenames, plaintext, lists and orgmode.

Leverage Unix tools: unix commands, (rip)grep, git, fzf, etc.

China's debt-to-GDP ratio is higher than the US and stands at around 280%: https://www.reuters.com/breakingviews/chinas-growth-is-burie...

Also, China's "innovation" is mostly built on IP theft.

Try 600 million. It's supposed to shrink by half.

Companies that provide store fronts that law abiding customers living in those neighborhoods can't live without.

Do you expect these corporate announcements to contain anything but PR and euphemisms?

Exactly.

One of the cardinal sins in statistics is:

Self-reports are biased.

A corporation is telling you about that same corporation? You can expect some bias ;)

I find it quite telling this attitude of "If someone tells you something, it's got to be true! Especially if it's a corporation!!" quite telling, regarding those folks who are saying "Hey you can't criticize California! You conservative!"

It's like... Really? California is some gleaming pinnacle of perfection? It's with great hesitation that I say this: Californians... get out-- and ask people in other states how they feel about California & its citizens-- and then go right back and stay in your confinement zone lol (I kid! I kid! Dang plz don't ban me :))

"Please respond to the strongest plausible interpretation of what someone says, not a weaker one that's easier to criticize. Assume good faith. "

I moved here a few years ago, so I don’t think I’m that lacking in perspective, and I think it’s nicer than other places I lived in a lot of ways. Certainly not seeing reasons for panic.

As a middle easterner who has lived all over the world, you sound like someone who has never traveled outside of your cocoon of a bubble.

Once tech companies can no longer cover negative cash flow with "funding", persistent tech unemployment will be reality.

Wouldn't that fit the second criteria since many first generation immigrants don't have the requisite language skills to compete with the native population for middle class jobs.

Except that's what the Fed is trying to correct. Inflation is caused when the money supply in an economy grows at faster rate than the economy's ability to produce goods and services.

Not sure why I got down-voted, but what I said just happened - https://home.treasury.gov/news/press-releases/jy1337. The depositors will be made whole.
