Applied in January for .NET Backend position, never got a response. But hey, you looked me up on Linkedin two weeks ago and the position is still listed on your site so that search must be going great :)

All you have to do is setup a single StyleCop config and enforce it across all projects, which would be the same if you used Prettier, go fmt or anything else. I don't get the 'different libraries' part, it can be literally a case in every single language. Let people use what does the job or force them to teach what you want them to use. It sounds more like your technical management issue rather than language/ecosystem problem. Since I started working with Node/TS I miss how similar and easy to read every C# codebase was.

I'm by no means an entrepreneur but I would literally never trust any of my services to Google. Not even email. This is the most evil, profit-centric company that has virtually no user support, nor a care in the world for you. They shittify every single product at some point too. Anything goes down, you're f*led without any means of getting help from a human. Someone someday in the past used the same ip as you and did something bad that got them banned? Say goodbye to your company's Play Store account. I've seen it happen for our client in the past. Zero communications. Google is the reason I moved away from Android App development.

Alternative to Keeping you awake Id recommend is Amphetamine (app, not drug), much more customizable.

Note that I’ve noticed that it consumes quite a bit of CPU on average over time, if you use the “monitor app/process” functionality.

(reported it to the Developer. It basically runs some `ps -a …` command every x seconds.)

It's baffling to me how almost all recent reviews just downgrade the movie to "it's just sexist" while it was one of the greatest Polish comedies of all time, made in 1984 when all the woke bullcrap wasn't everywhere as it is today.

Why polarise things even more like this? I agree with you (in partperhaps) and think it’s often fine to like 70s and 80s films for what they are without ignoring the fact that values and mores have changed. 1970s attitudes to women at work or sexual violence against women were really different. It’s not woke bullshit to think things have changed for the good. If your point was that ahistorical readings of literature can be killjoy then more people could probably get on board.

> Windows sucks in the default install, but if you know what you're doing you can remove all the junk from it and make Windows almost as efficient as, say, Linux (and way more efficient than macOS).

I can answer this as someone who, throughout last 6 months of his new job, used a Dell XPS 9570 with Windows, then PopOS, then Windows again, and just switched to an M3 Pro a week or two ago. No - you will never get close. That Dell could run fps games like CS:GO or Valorant with 100+ fps, had custom tweaks incl. thermalpads connecting to the chasis, exchanged thermal paste, was undervolted and with a custom fan curve. It still throttled from time to time. Granted - it was 8th gen i7, but it was on paper good enough to handle everything I do. Only on paper.

It also choke on my day to day work, which is WebStorm, Docker and Typescript web development. Indexing, autocomplete, builds(even with swc) took a really long time. I switched to PopOS for a while, but overal user experience was even worse to me, with constant issues ranging from monitors behaving weirdly, stuff crashing, requiring weird driver installations, even Docker didn't 'just work', I had to fight it half a day to get it to actually run. Went back to Windows until I got frustrated enough and just bought a 36gb M3 Pro, and I'm never going back. This just works, builds take 1/6th of what they did, I can run full swc build in 100ms, full tsc build takes 10 seconds(down from around 60), nothing ever stutters, nothing slows down, didn't hear fans yet. It does have some annoyances, mostly with window management, new keyboard layout and a ton of shortcuts needed to do basic stuff but once I learned those - it's really nice.

> no way to align or snap windows

Just download Rectangle for free. I recently switched from Dell XPS to M3 Pro and that was my gripe to. One install and it's much better, moving windows with ctrl+opt+arrows is also close to Windows and makes it fairly usable.

> while apps distributed on other (native) platforms never have such a problem

Could you give an example? I was an android app dev over 5 years ago and there was a huge push for lower app size everywhere. Google even made Android App Bundles to fight this issue specifically.

however big, you're only required download an app once. Next time there is an update that you cannot download, generally that won't block you from using the app at that point in time.

It actually depends, developer can block you from using the app until you update, either themselves or through Play Store's 'Immediate updates'.

I did say "generally"

People(old and young) give away their entire life savings to scammers every day, everywhere in the world. You don't hear about it on the internet all the time because we either got used to it or they don't want the publicity. You hear about big cryptocurrency scams more often because people invested are more into tech and spend time on the internet. Do you say that cash is not ready or appropriate for mainstream use? What about that cashier that never has that 1c of change back? Clearly a sign of not being appropriate for mainstream.

Those generic arguments can be applied to literally everything we already have. People get scammed via their bank accounts every day too, people literally get scammed by the phone. You have to use your brain when it comes to _anything_ that involves a real world value these days, saying 'crypto bad cause scams' is pointless as there are way more scams involving real world money everywhere.

The difference is that you need cash and bank accounts and phones to run a modern economy. They're useful for many many things, and you can't do without, and we our best to police and minimise scams.

Crypto, on the other hand, is specifically designed to evade regulation (permissionless setting), is useful for very little else, and you can do easily without it.

In Poland(since I'm also from here), biggest chunk of savings when working as self-employed is income tax and mandatory public retiremend fund. Most Software Engineers go B2B/self-employment route because not only taxes are lower, but savings from paying minimal public retirement are pretty big with higher salaries. We're at a point where most people in Poland do not believe in retirement system anymore, it's unsustainable and will crash or will be kept with social, minimal retirement, no matter what you paid in. That's why most of us want to save on the side, put that into ETFs or housing rather than count on the government, especially that over last decade or so almost destroyed this country.

Exactly. Only 3% of millennials believe that state pension system will allow them to survive.
