So why do they want Americans to use TikTok? It's not like they can't live without it, and anyway, they still have Youtube and Instagram short videos, etc. It's also not to show other countries that US is better and not banning foreign apps (like China does for example), since showing a good example won't change what other countries do. Is it because they know it's a more addictive service that they then control and can influence people's minds? Is it for their friends to make money off this split?
They should set a very high salary as a criteria for hiring someone from abroad. You want exceptional people, not regular people that you pay less than the ones you find in your own country.
You should then be dissatisfied with both at the same time. When people wish 'any change' they actually wish a change into better, otherwise it's plain stupid.
It is difficult for people to be unhappy with two choices unless given a third that they can be happy with. When you are either with us or against us, there aren't much people who will be dissatisfied with both at the same time, since that isn't an option given to them.
Is there a way to use Claude within the Jetbrains IDEs? I have a Jetbrains IDE license, and a Claude subscription, but I couldn't find an integration. To use Claude and have it integrated I need to subscribe to Jebtbrains AI instead, but then I don't have Claude in the browser anymore.
We made the choice to integrate directly with third party providers for a few reasons, but the major one is to do with how the providers can use our user's data. We have very restrictive agreements which don't allow the providers to use the data for training or any purpose other than validating the requests.
Maybe it's temporary, not 'once you build it they will use it'. Time will tell, if in the end a dictatorship proves itself to run things more efficiently and make everyone richer, then other countries will follow the US and adopt the same model.
He doesn't need to follow that recipe for dictatorship. He just needs to do whatever he wants, being a bully without consequences both internally and externally, transforming the image of the US into an aggressive nation. At this moment Americans are as guilty as Russians for allowing this to happen.
I didn't even receive a LI email, checked my spam as well, yet I can login to slideshare and see my account with full name and profile scraped from my LI account. Great!
By the way, my email is marked private on my linkedin account, but now it's on slideshare. So selling information you marked as private!
I can't quite parse your sentence (typo?) but I think you mean to ask whether it's possible that LinkedIn shared the PII when the user used their LinkedIn account to login to Scribd?
Doing so would in any case (I assume) violate the GDPR if LinkedIn doesn't doesn't have your informed consent for that. Perhaps their trying to weasel this under the "technically necessary" exception, but that strikes me as unlikely to hold water - at best they'd need to share some minimal token (e.g. if you sign in via google or some other auth provider, you get told what data google will share in advance, and it's possible to share fairly little).
The problem is that you might have "force opt. in" into a TOS agreement which states you allow the data transfer. So depending on the sign up with linkedln dialog it might have been legal...
Consent must specifically be freely given; it's not a valid basis if it's "forced opt in" in a TOS. I'm not sure if there's any jurisprudence here (on exactly what freely given means). Even if consent with a TOS were to be considered freely given (I don't think so, but IANAL), it would still need to be clear, and most TOS fail to clear that hurdle. At best it would be a push, and in principle if the legal basis in invalid, punishments can be just as severe as if you hadn't bothered trying at all (although clearly the enforcement at the moment still appears to give violators a lot of chances to repair any issues; so in practice a seemingly reasonable if invalid attempt might at least buy some temporary reprieve if every enforcement comes knocking).
I have been looking for the same thing. I want to connect my 2 laptops to the same dell monitor via one usb-c port, charge them, use the mouse and keyboard attached to the monitor. Now I have to move the usb-c cable from one laptop to the other, which already started to leave a mark on the port enclosure.
