You could build it in the open on GitHub or GitLab etc, you could stream your sessions on Twitch etc, you could post to a few subreddits, you could post shorts to TikTok and YouTube.

But why go to all this trouble to market building your product? Are you hoping someone will commission you to build their product?

I find user engagement to be motivating - when I see users are engaging with my platform it pushes me to build new enhancements & features as well as gives me ideas regarding what is resonating with my customers - thanks for the suggestions

I think "customers" is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that comment, only developers will watch you coding or read your blog or whatever else, probably only if you scratch their back too, and you have nothing to sell them except the future possibility of an app.

I would yeet this entire plan and just focus on getting your software finished as quick as possible, then put all your energy towards getting sales and hit up whatever subreddits and whoever writes or talks about AI utilities and tools and get these places and people to refer their audiences to your software.

I was getting 2-3 customers every week via reddit subs - but found myself excommunicated on some of the key boards for over-promoting .. product is in a good place now - you can see it here snappyleads.co.uk - I like your idea of getting others to refer their audience to my software .. it's not something I've ever tried before - I suppose they would be looking for some 'kick-back'?

Read all about it his new book, "Mat Lauer Can Suck It".

Yep, we've built "stack" after "stack" out of collecting and manipulating rows of data and right now probably a thousand eager young developers are noodling on how to do it slightly differently, probably counting down the minutes till they can launch Slightly Different Stack on HN and maybe even Product Hunt if they're feeling really good about their slight differences!

This might have been worth something when we were "learning" and "evolving" what the web actually is as a platform for software, when we needed to attract ninja rockstars with standardized skillsets through our developer blogs, but it is probably entirely superfluous with AI.

Ran out of everyone else to cull.

Absolute desperation for the illusion of engagement and retention. Otherwise, you'll almost definitely only get back there via an aggregator rarely if ever. The aggregators themselves, are almost down to just Google/Apple/Meta/Twitter, they don't care who they send the traffic to they just want a shitload of rent. They only care if you pay them to promote/boost/etc, and that's just extra rent for the aggregator to get around their shitty discovery and search, plus maybe 30% fee if you buy your boosted posts on your iPhone.

With that illusion of engagement and retention, they can convince someone to pay them to put ads and shit throughout and if they're lucky earn enough to keep playing.

Do you think we will ever move into an ad free era?

Maybe, we're already centralizing everything around a handful of big companies - for most of them ads are like a fallback more so than a plan A. Many things that are ad-supported have subscription-supported competition. Some of the tech industry loves their fees on that just as much if not more than ads.

How?

One of those things that we've always known but the longer-term possibilities integrating this with other treatments sounds fascinating.

> “An emerging body of research allows us to take what had been anecdotes and place music on an equal footing with prescription drugs, surgeries, medical procedures, psychotherapy, and various forms of treatment that are mainstream and evidence-based,” writes Levitin, recently summing up the current science of music for Wired.

What I'm really looking forward to, is when the EU investigates the "donations" big tech's been giving to Trump whilst requesting he make this exact same problem disappear in Europe. And what happens "after Trump" to the people committing these felonies.
