I wouldn't upgrade until Liquid Glass is fully rolled back

I’ll be honest I kinda like it on iOS is it that much worse on MacOS?

Anonymity on the internet has increasingly dwindled

He will likely run again. Already signalled that

In my opinion he doesn't stand a chance a 3rd time around. Also he's too old for that, he'd be 83 yo and by the end of his 3rd term would be 87.

His age or mental capacity never seemed to be a dealbreaker for his supporters previously. I'm not sure how or why that would change. Obviously number go up but if they still trust him it doesn't really matter. They will handwave and talk about advances in medicine & health

ICE is going to have a hell of a time feeding the souls of a thousand foreigners to the golden throne every day to keep him alive. Maybe that's what Venezuela's for.

If he has a third term, it's likely the end of it won't be based on some preset number of years but his eventual dirt nap.

Rebble apologized, withdrew claims, and left the door open for future collaboration. They are restructuring/reorganizing.

Core Devices pushed out modularity updates to be less dependent on Rebble's app store and started their own.

That's the latest public information.

Understand, no, it didn't.

Rebble forced their hands and the community is as good as dead.

What? Again, have you read the article? If it's a California tax the money goes to California and its budget, not the federal government or the federal budget

Yes I read the article. Have you read the comment you're replaying to? It clarified exactly that point. The scale of spending in the federal budget is so large that it a state billionaire tax is meaningless. They could confiscate the entire wealth of every billionaire in the US and it wouldn't make any difference to how much tax Californians are going to need to stump up, their federal commitments are far too large for it to make a meaningful difference.

And as long as this tax is being thought of entirely as a social engineering exercise that is fine as far as it goes. I think it's stupid but hey, Californians can vote for social engineering experiments. It just isn't a serious proposal for making a difference to their lives financially vis a vis the taxes they will pay. They're on the hook for a lot of taxes.

There's a Ruby gem for almost anything

MVT for testing mobile spyware? There are whole sectors of industry, such as cybersecurity, where Python shines and Ruby is nowhere to be seen.

In what other language is MVT offered other than Python? That seems like a good example of unique language specialization and not reflective of a Ruby gap relative to any other language. I also don't think that's something you'd bundle & reuse in another offering. In my opinion that's the primary value proposition of building within an ecosystem

Graphene OS has very spotty RCS support. It's effectively unusable

It can be annoying to get it to work with your carrier, but I would hardly call it effectively unusable.

Here's the 3-year-old, 1k+ comment discussion that begs to differ: https://discuss.grapheneos.org/d/1353-using-rcs-with-google-...

It's gotten inoperable on AT&T recently, and the Graphene team doesn't seem to care because RCS isn't completely E2EE (due to Apple dragging their feet) and therefore not a priority

The skins are almost fully clothed
