The worst thing to come out of tech industry is the attention economy, because time is all we have. A tech job shouldn’t be about wasting people’s lives. By not participating in this vulgar scheme I make the world a better place

Just work on fiverr or freelance sites, for $500 you don’t need to leave your home By freelancing you can make more than $500/m

Negative SEO. Thousands of low content link farm sites started appearing at the start of the pandemic. Google Disavow didn’t work, hosting companies like Cloudflare, Godaddy refuse to remove the Link farm sites. Domains are hidden behind privacy protection. Every week there are hundreds of new link farm sites, lost 70% in 1.5 year

Did you consider that this was a targeted attack by a competitor? I've seen this type of black hat SEO.

Yes, I found out the attacker was buying links. One site was offering links for a monthly fee. After I got removed from that one, about 1000 were gone. So he is using multiple link farms

Wow - is that legal? If not, seems like you could get in touch with a lawyer?

No it’s not legal, but the attacker hides behind privacy protection

No, it should be called Software Hacker. Engineering has to do with the physical world, there is nothing physical in software

First I would ignore bad backlinks as they’re not a good indicator of quality. The better your page, the more likely a competitor will start creating thousands of bad links.

It’s interesting p2p got back into popularity. Where most stuff seems to be client-server crud stuff, it was something refreshing. But it’s over a decade old now. While originally intended as digital cash, it seems more like another asset class

I feel it’s just TV industry, not tech.

You only fail if you give up

In the Netherlands there’s a lot of freelancers operating as a sole proprietorship. If you make a 100.000$ or more you can consider a business license.

If you surf mindlessly, you can listen to ebooks on repeat (while you clean your home or work)
