A Platform Engineer at Athena Intelligence is responsible for designing and maintaining the core infrastructure and services that support AI-native applications, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability. They collaborate with Product Engineers and FDEs to create an ecosystem which grows at the speed of the AI industry.
A Product Engineer focuses on developing user and agent-facing applications within the Olympus platform, creating intuitive interfaces using NextJS, TypeScript, and React. They ensure seamless integration of AI capabilities and collaborate with other engineers to optimize application performance and user experience.
A Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) works directly with clients to implement AI solutions, building the first version of products in collaboration with customers. They integrate AI technologies into existing systems and provide crucial insights for product development through real-world application.

- Platform Engineer: Build and maintain the core infrastructure and services that power Olympus and Athena. Design scalable systems that enable seamless AI integration.
- Product Engineer: Develop user and agent-facing applications within Olympus, including Reports, Sheets, Browse, Query, Notebooks, Spaces, and Flows. Create intuitive, AI-native interfaces.
- Forward Deployed Engineer: Work directly with clients to implement Olympus and Athena, engineering solutions at the edge to address real-world challenges.

previous palantir & scale ai engineer w/ an ai data science startup here. we found that RAG on a large corpus was the best outcome, not just RAG on queries, but RAG across any data the org uploaded to our system, athena intelligence. semantic search on documents, slack, and other sources provided better outcomes w/ on-prem models too. this has allowed us to unlock some novel analytics workflows including multi-modal, figma style, etc. we also just opened up our platform for public access. currently working with enterprises like anheuser-busch.
