Agree that react isn’t the best implementation of the concept, both in terms of ergonomics and efficiency. But a react-like framework is still very much needed to create complex apps in the browser. So IMHO react is a solution to a very current problem, only not an ideal one.
Which is why I said most places. Some places are definitely able to live without tourism, especially the biggest cities. Most places have absolutely nothing to offer besides a beach and pubs to get drunk in.
Oh cool, I had forgotten about this project, thanks for posting it! This is the first time I’ve noticed that they had the perspective "glass table" style dock that Apple used a couple of years later in Mac OS X Leopard.
> But I was surprised by his choice of Bang & Olufsen for music. For example, his Sennheiser headphones are mostly for hearing sound as it is, while B&O always tries to 'enhance' sound in their own way. It doesn’t match much.
I feel like I can identify with that. I have a pair of AKG studio headphones for recording music and listening for "mistakes" in mixes, but otherwise mostly B&O Hi-Fi speakers. To me, the sound is more "immersive" and emotionally captivating than e.g. studio monitors, and they still have lots of detail. (Plus, there’s the issue of them looking as nice as they do and being very easy to set up — it makes them easy to live with). Just my 2 cents.
Look, this is a losing argument. It’s ok if you prefer stuff like Zemeckis (who I might add, made a lot of melodramatic films himself) over international films, but that doesn’t them objectively better or more watchable for everybody.
> Look at all those top non-American films on that list:
That’s not a list of non-American films, it’s a list of non-American directors.
To answer what I assume is your every so snarkily delivered point: Yes, about a third of the directors on that list ended up successful in Hollywood. Does that mean international films are bad? Probably not! Does it maybe mean even Hollywood recognizes that there is a lot of international talent, and very good international films being made? Probably yes?
It‘s actually the opposite: some hydrogen cars that use combustion exist, but they are really, really rare. Almost all hydrogen cars that are road legal use a fuel cell in combination with BEV parts to smooth out/extend power delivery.
