Ad shows up with an ironic twist in a Coronavirus article >> somebody screenshots and posts to reddit >> instant front page >> even more free advertising but somebody calls the CEO who tells his subordinates to find somebody to yell at
I concur. Common wisdom is to not consume caffeine after noon, but quitting it entirely has been a life changer. I essentially had to brainwash myself that I have a chemical intolerance to caffeine whenever the opportunity comes up. Now a lot of times even when I think I’m not tired or my mind is racing, I’m still snoozing ten minutes after my head hits the pillow
One side effect just to think about, i wouldn’t take employer coverage because I’m covered by the VA, so any amount of premiums is simply an added cost, plus the large deductibles that often come with most health plans now.
However this type of system I would probably be incentivized to get something for my $500 per month. So I would probably elect to get some additional coverage even just the bare minimum without going over. This has good and bad side effects, one is that now I cost the employer $500 per month while before I was 0, but at the same time it’s better for the health plan as an under-utilizer to keep the overall costs of the plan low.
Would ancillary plans be eligible such as dental or vision or is it limited to a Health plan?
As long as you are enrolled in health coverage (whether yourself, or on a spouse's plan) you can spend your employer's health funds on dental and vision.
Nope. The fact is after you purchase something you are still in market for that product. So keeping you in a marketing segment will always be more profitable to the advertising team. Yes, you might be finished shopping now that you have finally decided on the best toilet seat, but the marketing segment that you fall into will always convert higher than a control group. There is just way too much data to confirm this.
It may make sense statistically, but for an individual customer it's just a strange experience. Look around this thread for all the comments pointing out the same thing, and wonder if a shopping app that was truly good would have all that people pointing out such strange behavior
Going after the registrar is unnecessary to stop this sort of behavior, nothing would stop a scammer from creating www.facebook.route34.com/login
People are getting accustomed to complex URL parameters they don’t understand. I doubt most people are paying attention. In a few years we might start seeing web browsers without the URL bar.
“Under the ‘Prosperity’ set of rules, every player gained each time someone acquired a new property (designed to reflect George’s policy of taxing the value of land), and the game was won (by all!) when the player who had started out with the least money had doubled it.”
This seems like an arbitrary cut-off point. How do we know that if the game were to continue the result wouldn’t end up being the same, with one player still controlling a monopoly of all the properties?
