I'm on a federal dev team that is mandated to use Teams, unfortunately, but this looks great.

I think a big barrier to getting anyone to transition from Slack or anything else to Noor would be trust & security. I'd lean more into what you're doing to that end, up front and center. I could only find a blurb at the bottom of the FAQ, after the mention that the avg age of your team is 23.

Good luck! Congrats on launch.

Love it. My 8 y/o is stoked to use up all of daddy's printer paper on designs :)

This is useful thx.

Feature suggestion: add the ability to toggle `white-space: nowrap` on the post titles. I turned it off in devtools & it still looks pretty good. Could maybe use a px or 2 of vertical margin between titles to better delineate, but not necessary. Or, alternatively, add tooltips.

Nice work.

Thanks for suggestion, I added Tooltip to Story titles, I forgot to add that previously. Also note, if you want to scroll the entire section you can shift + wheel scroll to horizontal scroll, or middle mouse button drag to horizontal scroll if you want to see more titles at same time

In response to https://twitter.com/adamwathan/status/1335953939473326081?s=... or coincidence? (Nice work)

Incredibly I missed that tweet, and also we've been working on this for many weeks, but love the coincidence!

Parallax, maybe, but no wind = no swirling dust or shifting sands, no?

There is in fact wind. Only ~1% as much air as Earth, but it's sufficient to support phenomena like dust devils.

https://science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2005/1...

Of course, it's very weak, so it couldn't push over a spacecraft or building like in "The Martian", but I suspect sands shifts on a very slow timescale. I'm not sure.

You just linked to the ESA version of my NASA link :)

I think I meant to reply to the person above you.

In the images of the post, you can see these effects of wind-driven sand and dust, such as rippled dunes.

But there is wind, and storms.

Isn't there wind on Mars?

Yeah, I steer clear of the Crime & Safety section... I'm strictly on there for important neighborhood announcements, etc.

Some are quick to suggest calling the police, either not realizing or not caring that there's potential for things to escalate, & for someone to lose their life.

Ha. I don't know Ling but I think I'd like to.

I've met Ling and I know a bunch of people who worked on her site over the last decade. She's definitely an interesting character, and very good at marketing.

The last time Ling was mentioned on HN she accused HN of DDOSing her site.

Yes! HN members were DDOSSING my website, damn them. - Ling

Whoaa, are you really Ling? This website is awesome. I'm gonna send some relatives your way for some business.

Got em

That's a simple analysis to an incredibly complex issue. There are many reasons some black fathers aren't around to raise their kids. Some reasons under their control, many not. The cycle continues until underlying circumstances (societal, penal, etc) are addressed.

Easy to say, but people will still do it. And those people vote and affect policies that, in turn, affect you and me.
