If you can't manage your own spending habits, use a debit card. If you treat your credit card spending like you would a debit card and pay off the balance in full, there are slew of benefits.

Here's a great credit card offer I recently found: http://www.schwab.com/public/schwab/banking_lending/credit_c...

2% CASH BACK ON EVERY PURCHASE, automatically deposited into an interest bearing account at the end of the month, which has an optional checking option providing free checks and full ATM reimbursements, no fees.

If instead you used a lousy BOA debit card, you'd have no cash back, a bunch of fees, and a hell of time fighting any illegitimate charges.

You think that the point of that offer is to make YOU money? No, it's to make the bank money by convincing enough people to use credit cards. If everyone would follow your system, that offer would not exist.

So these 'benefits' you tout are just marketing.

The point of the offer is for the bank to signup new customers. I make money from cashback and save money on ATM fees. The bank won't make much if any money on me, but I'm not the average customer.

Many of the new customers will carry a balance, transfer a balance, and/or invest & trade with them. This makes the bank money. Now if everyone paid their balance in full, this offer wouldn't exist, but of course this doesn't happen.

ConnectU used to look like junk back in August 2007: http://web.archive.org/web/20070826023826/http://www.connect...

Now, it's REALLY similar to Facebook once you look around the inside. It's pretty ridiculous, because it seems that ConnectU was recently updated to appear just like Facebook to make their case stronger ?!

Those ConnectU people are worthless jokers and they have no idea.

First off, super impressive app.

When I went to submit feedback while demoing, it asked me to authenticate after I submitted it - not sure if it went through.

I found a bug as well: Open an image, select an area, go to edit -> copy, and then the image disappears.

Thanks, I'll get right on that. There will be another release in the next day or so and that'll be fixed.

I saw what Zenter had before, and Presently incorporates little to none of Zenter's awesomeness. Next version...

I agree. I met Wayne & Robbie at a YC tea (the day after a rehearsal demo, which I heard they rocked), and immediately fell in love with the way Zenter actually leveraged the web to make presentation software BETTER.

Yeah, Zenter was much nicer. Unfortunately things move slower in big companies.

Unfortunately, your post was knocked off the top spot on TechCrunch pretty quickly with other stories. Congrats on the launch - this is a great product.

I thought this would be of interest to people considering applying to Y Combinator or the other micro seed funding programs - but YC's clearly best. I had to write this for school in order to graduate (on Monday!) so I figured I'd do it on something relevant.

Slightly OT, but did you present at the NYC Tech Meetup last year?

Haha, yeah, Dave and I were there presenting a very early Weebly. This was prior to YC, but things sure have changed a lot since. Did we meet?

Briefly, but I wasn't sure if it was you (I'd forgotten your company's name).

Anyway, it's good to see you still going; a lot of startups present there, and you never hear about them again.
