doesn't "tablet mode" still work in the current releases of Windows 10/11? I do remember that not all applications supported it (either cleanly or at all).
Tablet mode kind of solves the issue for the Start Menu and the window manager.
But you’re still using applications with tiny touch targets. Plus all the parts of Windows that don’t even work with the on screen keyboard. Try typing a password in the privilege elevation prompt for a laugh.
People with Windows tablets use them with a separate keyboard and mouse in the cover, and then they use the touch screen to draw on pdfs.
Because dealership model is stupid. Why would consumers want to haggle with a car salesman at a dealership and pay a premium for an unnecessary middleman when they can buy directly from manufacturer for cheaper?
How do you think Tesla's are being sold now? They've already overturned these stupid laws in almost all the states except for Texas and a couple others. These laws were meant to restrict car dealerships from having unfair advantage over dealerships that they sold to. Tesla doesn't sell to dealerships, they sell D2C so obviously doesn't apply to them. I'm glad we're not being forced to deal with car dealerships and paying a higher price thanks to an unnecessary middleman. All others will have to follow Tesla's lead or go bankrupt.
Tesla doesn't "sell" it's cars to company-owned stores. Tesla has a D2C business model like Warby Parker. The stores are mainly for show and tell and consumer education, they're not dealerships. People just order online.
HN constantly attacks Tesla and Elon so you shouldn't be surprised. In fact, I've associated negative attacks from HN as an indicator that the company/person being attacked is probably doing something good.
HN is divided on divisive issues. It's that simple.
People overgeneralize about that because of cognitive bias: the bad (what you don't like) stands out more than the good (what you agree with). What's negative (to you) is what you're more likely to notice: https://hn.algolia.com/?dateRange=all&page=0&prefix=false&qu.... That's why people with the opposite tastes make the opposite generalizations.
We're not allowed to criticize HN? I'm not sure which rules I was breaking? I simply gave my opinion on a pattern I've noticed on HN. You're censoring me because you disagree?
It's fascinating to me how much crabs-in-the-bucket syndrome this place has acquired over the past few years. It's hard to think of successful people HN doesn't hate.
