> I'm a big believer in the "multiple nested universes" theory that our universe began as an offshoot of another, parent universe, and that some of the larger/heavier black holes in our universe could be gateways to other child universes.

but then there's the question of what came before the universe(s) ours originated from and what came before that and so on, since, following our current understanding, everything has an origin

even if we were to argue our universe is a simulation, who/what's running the simulation and where did that originate from? how did it come about?

not sure that would work really - could lead to falsified medical records to claim from state/drug abuse/(falsely) claiming mental illness in an attempt to absolve people of crimes in court etc

this was a triumph! im making a note here: huge success

It's hard to overstate my satisfaction.

i just create an editorconfig file <http://editorconfig.org> in root directory of projects, saves having to remember to switch tab settings across them (there might be another plugin with more functionality but it does what i need it to)

This is half a solution at best. It doesn't specify whether to put the curly brace on a new line for instance, and a dozen other formatting options.

yeah, i meant for the tab issues specifically since others arent as easy to miss

hopefully someone will get around to adding more functionality to the plugin so i don't have to edit my visual studio formatting settings for parentheses/comma spacing whenever i switch projects :p

tutorials never worked for me, far too boring

was much easier to just find existing codebases and tinker with some functionality of them to learn, while asking those more experienced to clarify anything i couldn't figure out with a bit of trial and error/looking up usage of similar code elsewhere within the codebase

personally, i learned c++/lua (though im not by any means 'advanced' in them) from an mmo server emulator since it was easy to see how gameplay was affected and compare expected vs intended results

also im barely awake rn so this comment probably makes zero sense

> log every IP connection

wonder how long before people abuse this to setup redirects or malicious code to connect suspicious sites/ip addresses and render the whole thing pointless and get everyone on government shitlist

would be easy to provide "evidence" against someone who has no knowledge of said sites simply by presenting logs

i guess a way to avoid this would be surveillance on all online accounts (read: making logs mandatory on everything ever); including search history, browsing habits etc, (not that im a fan of having my life and every interaction on display to others) but that leaves you vulnerable to anyone trying to impersonate you for whatever reason
