I actually run Plex, Emby, and Jellyfin. I would like to only run Jellyfin, but unfortunately some devices will not have jellyfin, but will have plex and/or emby. The main reason I personally still use Plex (or sometimes Emby) even though I am running Jellyfin with all the exact same stuff -- is because Jellyfin sucks at live TV / iptv. It's interface is complete trash and I can't seem to get a good "guide" going like I can with Plex or Emby. If that can be resolved then I'd definitely only ever use Jellyfin.
It's all automated for each one, and yeah they write the metadata into the folder. I have Radarr/Sonarr/Prowlarr + Ombi + rtorrent, which pretty much automates everything. I just type in what I want and it shows up in all 3 a minute or two later. Sonarr also keeps track of TV schedules, so if it's a new show that is still airing it automatically shows up when a torrent of it becomes available.
Interesting, I'm surprised they don't hit you with automated copyright claims or something. I wonder if you can use youtube-dl to help 'extricate' your library? I've used it to auto-convert my music playlists into mp3 files, and it's always worked great.
You can use youtube-dl-gui to grab mp3's from many different platforms.
I also grab mp3's using ymusic and a hacked pandora app on my phone. I miss the days of what, waffle, and oink though. Still haven't gotten into orpheus yet.
People in my dorm used them for art. One guy made a sculpture. Others microwaved them for a few seconds to get that spider pattern. Even with all the art, we still had buckets of them. What a waste.
I was so annoyed by those that I started trying to return them to the sender. What I didn't know is that "standard mail" (the bulk rate) doesn't include return postage in case the recipient doesn't want the item or there's a mistake with the item. So the post office most likely just discarded them and never sent them back to AOL.
Nowadays when I get junk mail I put a first-class stamp on it before attempting to bounce it back to the sender. Theoretically this should work, although there's no guarantee the postal workers will cooperate.
I do the same thing, but instead of spending my money I use junk mail that includes return envelopes (e.g. credit card offers, etc). Discover Card must have boxes of junk mail from me by now, I hope they like paying for its transit.
not really, I was kinda expecting the post would also contain interactions with Microsoft, leading to the resolution of the bug in update XX. The post kinda left me unsatisfied.
While I too am anxious to hear the outcome after Microsoft investigates the author still shared something they were interested in of which holds a value to the HN community as many of us love digging into a system and finding issues. This was the main purpose of the article.
Regardless the author may not know how critical Microsoft has classified this issue. It could be something they don't resolve for years. Since the Microsoft investigation and possible patch has no barring on the content of this article I wouldn't expect it to be held until such a time.
I'm sure we'll get a follow up on HN when or if it gets patched. Even better maybe posting this article helps get it fixed sooner :)
