Great tips! Any ideas how to implement that at scale? I mean, schools, colleges, etc.


That’s a tough one. I’m not sure I know enough to suggest any systemic changes, but here are a few thoughts: - Apply more mixed practice. This is hard because the books we used to study from are based on the blocked practice idea. - Promote more problem-based learning; not answering “what’s democracy?” on a test but role-playing setting up a new country on the moon. - Rethink testing. This is the toughest one. We’re so conditioned to think of testing as something bad that it’d take enormous changes in the curricula and student’s minds to fix that.
