Is this Robinhood for Options? I haven’t found much on it other than a press release announcing a seed round of $4.1M

Because the alternative is usually renting, where the monthly expense is similar, but there is no principal down or asset appreciation.

This is not accurate. The average down payment is currently 5% per the latest Urban Institute Research.

This. Here's research to back this statement up:

Today's House Prices Are Over 40 Percent More Affordable Than The Housing Boom Peak:

And to balance that out, also from your link:

>"The affordability gain from increased house-buying power, however, was offset by the third component of the RHPI, nominal house price appreciation, which reached a record 19 percent compared with a year ago, eclipsing the record for price appreciation of 17.5 percent set in 2005."

Awesome, thanks for sharing. Bookmarked.

To expose the entire patent troll ecosystem, HN should find a way to cloud source a database of patent lawsuits.

Maybe include data points like -

- the patent in question

- the troll behind the suit

- the defending IP litigator (so others can know where to turn when the troll goes after their next victim)

- the outcome of the suit - settled, won, lost, costs, penalties, etc

The more information that becomes available to combat these trolls, the better.

Perhaps a site like this could run completely off donations, by saving money in legal expenses. Or maybe monetize allowing IP litigators to list their services in a directory. Maybe allow users to review IP litigators and link them to successful/unsuccessful cases and outcomes?

Looks great. Question: is there a way to filter the articles based upon the page? For instance, we have a 4 step input process. Can the widget only display topics based upon each page/step?

If not, could I set up 4 widgets?

Good question. We currently only support loading the widget at the top level where it will show all categories/articles. However, we plan to release an update in the near term which will allow you to initialize the widget filtered on a specified category or article, which should allow you to customize the display for each of your steps.

Keep an eye on our blog where we'll announce new features such as this!

Yep, it's bait and switch, their "Priority Access Beta email" promised a free plan [0]. I actually _paid_ $29 for priority access to their beta, but never got around to installing their code; after seeing this I don't plan on it.

Awesome post Tawheed. I've been a fan and user of ToutApp since the beginning. I never doubted it would succeed.

Thanks for following along!

We've built LeaseMatrix (http://lease.io/) over the last 18 months. The stack is Linux/Apache/MySQL/Rails along with Bootstrap and Javascript. The app is a web-based alternative to a spreadsheet for commercial lease analysis and comparison. We (obviously) use Bootstrap 2.3 with very little customization, as most of our development focus has been on the backend thus far because it is heavily finance focused with many complexed calculations. We use AWS and Rackspace for hosting. Other apps we use include Stripe (love it), Intercom (love it), Optimizely (love it), Google Maps API, Google Charts API, Feedjit and Wordpress (for blog only). We've played around with integrating KISSMetrics and considered Mixpanel, but our traffic volume is such that Google Analytics + Intercom + Feedjit works well enough for now.
