The title is misleading as BMW will introduce Android Automotive as a second platform - not fully switch to it.

> “The company plans to develop their BMW Operating System 8 infotainment software using Android Automotive for some vehicle models beginning in March 2023 but also maintain the current Linux-based version for others.“ https://www.theverge.com/2022/6/30/23189642/bmw-android-auto...

Thanks for this, from the headline I already feared they are going to cancel iDrive! Good to know it doesn't go anywhere, its such a good, wonderfully tactile system!

It starts with the simple ability to convert a blank page into something interactive, useful and helpful for somebody else.

And it continues with the possibility to apply knowledge and experience. Most important to see things from a higher level, realizing and thinking in systems and applying these methodical thinking on a daily basis - and passing the knowledge on to somebody else.

I've been using the following system for a few years now and I am able to handle a high volume of emails with it.

1. Create categories: .Urgent, .When Possible, PJ Your Project, PJ ...

2. Create two folders: .Action [Set "View" to "Date (Conversations)], .Archive [Set "View" to "Categories"]

3. Create Quick Steps: "Action - Urgent" (Actions: Clear Categories, Move to .Action, Categorize message: .Urgent, Mark as Read, Shortcut: CTRL+Shift+1), "Action - When possible" (Actions: Clear Categories, Move to .Action, Categorize message: .When possible, Mark as Read, Shortcut: CTRL+Shift+2), "Archive" (Actions: Move to .Archive, Categorize message [Leave the category empty to be prompted for the category], Mark as Read, Shortcut: CTRL+Shift+3)

4. Schedule email sessions in your calendar (max. 2 times/day for a fixed time period): For each email: Delete or use the shortcuts to assign them as "Urgent", "When possible" or "Archive" them. Inbox should be empty afterwards. Do not take a look into the inbox outside of scheduled inbox sessions.

5. Work on the emails: Work on the emails in the ".Urgent" folder first. If you got time, work on the emails in the ".Action" folder next.

The German BSI (Federal Office for Security in the Information Technology) send out a recommendation to disable synchronisation or delete the app until Apples fix (currently in beta) is released.

I can recommend Cushion (https://cushionapp.com). For me it's a great suite of tools in one intuitive and easy to use platform.

”No collision took place.” ”In all cases, the self-driving prototype was not at fault, according to the California Department of Motor Vehicles and the companies.”

You're piecing together two unrelated sentences from the article to tell a different story...

"No collision took place" - refers to the two cars in this case.

"In all cases, the self-driving prototype was not at fault, according to the California Department of Motor Vehicles and the companies." - refers to previous crashes excluding the one being discussed in the article.

You're right. In Germany you'll need to do the math with 1.40 at least.

You _can_ create an account to sync your key across devices but you don't need to (I didn't).

You can export your data but in their notification when the backup is ready to download, they'll say "You can't import it back into Basecamp, it's just for reference."
