Do you sponsor Visa? I am in India right now.

Hi Sarah,

I am interested in the lead engineer role. Would you be able to give me any salary range for this position?

thanks

I wanted to make something like this, but I think youtube is going to send them a notice sooner or later, correct me if I am wrong, there is no official way to download a video from youtube https://stackoverflow.com/a/8081778

The site is super fast, wrt generating transcript and even the summary is super fast. I am very impressed with this.

If I want to generate a summary on bunch of text? do i have to use embeddings? anyone has done something similar?

I can agree with you regarding books and whitepapers.

But AI is getting close to Humans wrt to generating blogs and emails. So wanted a way to understand if i can detect this.

I believe you are asking wrong question and what you really need is something else.

Maybe you need an ability to read 100 letters per minute using AI-generated digest. Text is not a rich multimedia file like jpg, there are no hidden dots or something.

Text is an API to the most cognitive parts of our cognition and there is no hidden astrology in the data as well. Text is supposed to be an omnipossible environment of senses and any progress in machine-readable semantics will lead to nothing except of even more advanced chat bots. Your question is like detecting my skin color and model of computer I typed this in based on the text of the comment you have already read.

Nothing related to Okta Vs Google SSO.

But I think I can add my 2 cents on why people who are already using something like Okta, will take into consideration before switching.

- Pricing, is it going to be significantly cheaper for the organisation in the long run?

If not it's not worth disrupting 100s of applications for 1000s of people, and not to mention the overhead of tech ops setting this up for everyone for a few thousand dollars per year.

But if the cost saving is in millions or 100s of thousands of dollars? why not .. i think then they can afford to disrupt the existing flow

- Bandwidth to perform this migration, do we have enough room to do this. Chances are people are already fighting with the existing burning issues.

- Customer support

I can resonate with this a lot as I am a newly minted Staff Engineer.

You really need to block the times to focus, so you hopefully still get to solve some interesting things.

Most of my time is spent on setting the direction, cross team collaboration, managing different stakeholders in the higher, backlog refinements and pre-refinements. I tend to pick up small 1 point story tickets which are not on the critical path to stay in touch with ground reality.

You also have to be an adult in the room, even though you are not wrt age. Got to deal with kindness and patience.

Loved your phrasing here around “ground reality”. I do the same partly because I miss coding but mostly because I don’t want the code base to get away from me.

Demo is very cool, how do I run these games on Unix? Looks like it's an exe file. Is there a way to build this myself.

I'll try to package it for Linux this morning. So far nobody asked for it.

Even instructions on which python files to run would also work for me :)

You can find the packages here:

https://github.com/mristin/ski-leu-desktop/releases/download...

https://github.com/mristin/pop-that-balloon-desktop/releases...

If you want to run the code manually, install it in the virtual environment. Then you can simply run commands `ski-leu` or `pop-that-balloon`.

Btw., I use pop-that-balloon for basketball dribbling training, and a friend uses it for boxing. Have fun & please let me know if you use it for yet another sport :).

Edit: removed bullet points

Hi Erin,

Are you open to hiring from India for the Ruby on Rails role?

we used to have an antique bed frame of king size, and it used to have a mirror which is imported from Belgium.

My great grandfather who used to be rich got it custom made.

It used to be so majestic, made of rose wood. The my dad got it broken down into two beds. I wish i had pics to show, but at those times photos used to cost something as you have to spend a reel film on it.

How does the current Architecture of Github looks like, Apart from Rails, I have heard that they use Go as well.
