People have been trying to use AI in radiology for decades. They still can't get it to do simple tasks like detect pneumonia from an X-ray. I think you are over-estimating how potent this "intelligence" really is.
We were blown away when LLMs came on the scene, because 'whoa, man! Machine can talk like a human', but really, stupid people have been posting online for decades. They talk like humans too! Yet they don't add any value (viz shit posters and trolls).
That was also what I took away when watching the video. Russians don't celebrate Christmas on the 25th (they Celebrate on January 7th), but even more than that: Russians don't celebrate Christmas the same way we do in the west.
Their "Christmas" family celebrations are on New Years Eve.
So if you're drawing conclusions from them not working on the 25th (which is a literal normal day in eastern europe) then signs point elsewhere unfortunately.
ah, Eastern Europe is a homogeneous slop, good to know. The 25th is only celebrated as a national holiday in like 90% of Eastern European countries. Russia and Serbia celebrate it on January 7th instead, and even that is only due to their use of the old Julian calendar. But sure, normal day in a very narrow and obscure definition of Eastern Europe.
You don't see the problem with a multi billion dollar project not able to give a correction answer to a trivial question? This tech is supposed to revolutionize business, increase productivity to unfathomable levels, automate all our dull boring tasks so we can focus on interesting things! Where have you been the past 4 years?
This. Part of my role is assessing and recommending what if any AI implementations we might add to our production and I did this experiment because my boss's boss did it himself first and sent me a screenshot with the caption "concerning" (though he got "tiger" as his animal). It's going to be a hard sell for more complicated things as long as it makes catastrophic mistakes like this on simple things.
I'm trying to motivate one or hopefully both of these ideas
- if it is worth backup up or exporting, it is worth doing it early and often
- but more importantly if we backing up and exporting, we should be continuously thinking are we even on the right platform? Does a better alternative exist?
Teenage me sent a letter to a US airline maintenance department asking why they don't put a one-directional fin on the landing gear tires to cause them to rotate in the air, so they wouldn't create as much smoke when they contact the runway. I don't remember what the reason was, but they wrote me back so I appreciated it.
I don't think you could take over the company with a jira token. Another factor for consideration with turnstiles is disability access and fire egress. Those are covered by building code but since this is a parable, it's worth noting that physical security has often caused tragic stampedes that have killed many.
You are right, it's much harder to compromise a system with the jira token, which is why it was the solution for the username/password stored as cookies. Plus the token was never exposed to the client.
It doesn't effectively stop it, but it forces them to give up some element of surprise. They have to either start the attack or start a trespassing action that will initiate contact with police.
No, lobbying should be banned even if they pay tax. The only way corporations should have access to representation is by having their role formally defined by an amendment to the Constitution. As in, this government is formed by citizens who have these rights, and corporations that have these rights. Make it official and open, not the subversive manipulation where we act like they aren't there.
