We looked into DigitalGlobe a while back. They are the best provider of satellite imagery we could find, but there are a lot of limitations. First, you really cannot get on demand imagery. If you wanted the same picture take every day for months or years. They couldn't do it. Second, the costs were too high. Even looking at their startup package it felt like we were a small town band talking to a major record label.
My expectation is that drones will be a much better technology. Unless what you are interested in is imagery of North Korea, Russia, or some remote area in Africa in which case pay up and these guys/gals can do it.
Agree with this statement. To compete with Microsoft, Apple, Google you need a platform (OS and phone). While Facebook messenger didn't really off, photos may be more of a popular transition as many send photos to Facebook anyway.
Thanks. Did you check out the link to the general paper? One of my favourite questions from there: "Does the moral character of an orgy change when the participants are wearing Nazi uniforms?"
Ask for the documents in advance. Tell the title agency that if you don't get copies in advance you'll happily sit in the room and read them all at closing. Call them a few times to remind them that your are "Really looking forward to reading every word of those contracts". They want deals to close smoothly and will provide you with the documents.
It is clear that something isn't going according to plan. With two startups coming out of the same program at a top school, I'm sure there is enough bad blood, lawyers, friendships, and did I mention lawyers that people don't want to talk.
But how does a startup handle this? When it is clear to your customers that you something is happening, but you aren't at liberty to say.
there is a rumor that initial delays had to do with (what would seem to be a very cautious) aversion re: sopa/pipa issues over the screencasts. i say that "there is a rumor" because the only extent i know about it is as a rumor from someone who didn't have the clearest picture so i won't vouch for it - especially b/c it remains unclear to me exactly what the fear is rooted in.
Pretty much did the same thing myself (stopped feeling good about commenting on anything). Her drive and humble demeanor were evident from the interviews she gave. Her death is a loss.
Death in general is a loss. I know that this view is a bit simple-minded, but I believe that everyone has a part to play in the world and it is unfortunate that her part stops here. On the positive side, I hope that her life inspired others so that she may live on in them.
