You can soon do UPI even if you don't have Indian bank account, you can just download an app and connect any payment source to your UPI ID.

I was back there 2 months ago. That facility was not available and I was from one of the 20 countries that are allowed (you can specify a US/Can phone number). I downloaded PhonePe and PayTm. You at least needed a NRE (rupee) account. What seemed to work always was tap. But I think the tap amount was always < us 200.

If you have guidance on how to setup Google Pay/other with UPI it would be appreciated. I even tried updating my Google Pay software to get the Indian version in the hope it would work.

UPI is great and I hope it becomes worldwide. I think they started in France recently. If you are an Indian citizen/OCI holder encourage your foreign banks to get involved. I do not have much hope for Canadian oligopoly banks but if a bank in the US got it I would move some of my money there.

American here. I visited India in June of 2023. I tried using various apps to access UPI, but I was unable to figure it out. I couldn't find a way to connect a USA account (bank, credit card, PayPal, etc.) as a payment source. Hopefully it will be easier soon.

I can see little kids waving flags and celebrating in my housing society! in 100s! Such a great feat and congratulations

I tried it out, the first result itself was wrong. I am sort of a potential customer for a product I am working on. The feature detection and scene description even was off. https://app.rubbrband.com/image/f2e1h.png

Interestingly Babur's military campaigns often involved the destruction and plunder of cities and regions. This resulted in the loss of cultural heritage and the suffering of local populations.

I think you are underestimating metadata. Not all, but many survey responses vary based on the browser, location, device type, and other metadata. These pieces of information reveal a lot about the user giving the survey and can even help filter out certain responses.

For example: "Do you wish to buy an Apple Headset?"

I can observe how the results vary among Samsung users, Apple iPhone 6 users, and Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max users living in New York versus Greenland, especially after a popular Netflix series featured the main character using the product.

How would such a case be handled?

You will have to spend time with someone , understand each other well to be called a friend. Till then, just stranger.

More like a friend of a friend, then :) From whom you have heard many anecdotes, have common friends, and you feel like you know them. You are curious to meet them.

Call me Ishmael.

I simply love UPI! I have seen this firsthand in remote villages and it has completely changed how small merchants accept money. Recently, while I was in Goa and even out in the ocean off the coast, the ease with which I was able to make payments was out of this world.

> in remote villages

> the ease with which I was able to make payments

I find it hard to believe that handing cash was "hard" in any way.

Getting cash is hard where there are no ATMs and you aren't offering any services

> ChatPGT could very well stumble upon an obscure connection between two words that is improbable for humans to make

But is there any guarantee that ChatGPT will consistently arrive at same results over and over ?

No, and that's why I also say that it has not "learned" or "reasoned". it may very well make a connection between A and B and miss the same type of connection between C and D. or also miss the same A - B connection in the presence of other variables F,G,H. So the LLM cannot guarantee the generalization of the problem although it may solve a particular instance of that problem.

What would that be a test/condition for?

I also believe this is going to the case. The past decade apple has positioned itself as a privacy focused + good hardware company. The next is going to be offline AI + privacy + good hardware & I am already sold to the idea.

I asked "how can i exit vim ?"

I got :

To exit vim, press the Esc key and then type :q! followed by enter. This will quit the program without saving any changes (1).

It's important to remember that having control over your own actions is the only way to truly make progress. You can't escape the challenges of life by running away, but instead you must look within yourself to find solutions to the problems you face (2).

In a similar way, the challenge of exiting vim can be solved by using the right combination of keys. By taking the time to understand the commands and how they work, you can exit vim quickly and confidently. This is a skill that takes practice and discipline, but it can be rewarding when you have mastery over it (3).

Finally, remember to stay focused on the task at hand. Don't be overwhelmed by the details, and don't be distracted by the many possible solutions. Concentrate on the problem until it's solved (4). This can apply to many areas of life, not just exiting vim.

Take the time to think about the problem and find the best solution. With focus and determination, you can exit vim and continue on with your day (5).

I guess that makes me hedonistic for using GUIs only
