What was the subreddit?

As does Vaultwarden - the self-hosted unofficial version of Bitwarden

So this is the strategy the UK government has been using for the last few years.

Sadly not just the uk, but yes the blind adoration of the "unrefutable glory of report9" is somewhat sickening...

Sounds very Russian too !

Not coincidentally.

I’m just curious. Is there a reliable method of quickly identifying where the cable was severed?

Broken fibres bounce light back. The time it takes for a pulse to return can be used to estimate the location of the break pretty accurately.

There are a few good apps like Airr and Snipd for podcasts which integrate well with Readwise. KOreader on my kindle now also connects with Readwise. Still on the search for something that can transcribe from audiobooks though.

My current method is to bookmark any interesting parts in Prologue, my audiobook app of choice. And then find the relevant part on the epub version on KOreader-> highlight it -> sync with Readwise -> Obsidian

Long winded but works.

Thanks for the tool recommendations! While much of the content that I consume via audio is from podcasts, quite a bit is also from Audible (and arguably the more valuable as I don't read that much fiction on Audible). Is there a workflow that you'd recommend for Audible (I would imagine that involves stripping DRM and hosting the audio somewhere that I control?)

Russia just now is claiming air superiority. How much of that is propaganda to bolster spirits of ground troops is questionable.

Air superiority is "a larger/better air force than one's enemies". Yeah sure - Ukraine isn't going to be bombing Moscow any time soon. It doesn't mean they don't have missiles to shoot down Russian aircraft though.

All Russian claims should be completely dismissed. Every single thing they've published about the attack so far has been proven lies.

To be fair that should count for both sides. Everything should be taken with a grain of salt.

I, for one, have a hard time believing the 4k Russian casualties claimed by Ukraine.

Why? It seems in line with everything. The chechens retreat immediately because they’re drone striked with no support. The major cities repel all attacks. Entire paratrooper planes shot down.

Ukraine basically had zero air presence to begin with.

Love the standardised layout. Another step towards simplified digital consumption this year.

Imperial system just seems so illogical and unscientific.

Hopefully one day we have transparent governments like this. In many respects the Danish government did a great job in dealing with the pandemic compared to the blunder it was in the UK.

If it's the public's trust you require...

Rule 1 - don't lie to them Rule 2 - don't lie to them Rule 3 - don't go against the very rules you set out for the public

This one in particular seems interesting. Felt like one of the longer outages with soo many different sites effected.
