“all fees would be refunded to users who participated in these markets, and that positions from before his death would be cashed out at the last-traded price.”
For a good while there, the headlines went from “oniony” to “sim-city news headline flavor text” to “I can’t believe I share a finite existence with the people being discussed”
Same. I also wonder why would anyone take the other side on stuff like this, this is clearly to incite insider traders, so either there's a lot of stupid people out there willing to part with their money or this is a very efficient money laundering scheme.
I’m seriously contemplating blocking the news completely. It’s not like me being informed has any influence anyway, now that belief can be manufactured to such an extent. Might as well lower my blood pressure.
Skip the technical blocking step and internalize the fact that it is pretty much all irrelevant to your (average person’s) day to day life. Ideally, then even knowing it won’t affect your blood pressure. And the fact is, do you even have reason to believe the claims are true?
I am commenting in this thread to pass time, but I assume there is a such a high chance the linked article is not true, or at least has a hidden agenda, such that it should be ignored or treated as entertainment. Could be product placement, could be completely manufactured rage-bait, who knows, and more importantly, I have no reason to care.
It could be a win-win for everyone and they inform him they will not enforce any non-competes.
“After spending (…) then a little less than two years at Intel Foundry, O'Buckley will now supervise how Qualcomm turns its designs into finished silicon.
Whether or not Intel Foundry will produce any of Qualcomm's future designs is something that remains to be seen.”
In terms of R&D - as ARM - or Qualcomm indexes, which exit as capitol accumulates prior to leveraging microprocessors in "X" as contract appropriation.
They probably have proof in contracts that they agreed to this usage. They won’t alter the deal based on some bad press nor do they want to lose the DoD-DoW as a customer.
From what I was reading, it appears that their tools were used outside the scope of their contract with DoD via Palantir's work that also used Claude. Anthropic freaked out, DoD freaked out that Anthropic freaked out and threatened to declare them a supply chain risk. That designation would've required any company that contracts with DoD to strip out any Anthropic tooling from their business in order to continue working with DoD. It was effectively designating Anthropic a terrorist organization.
Never ending worm approach is to get remote control via methods on android or apple. Then scam other contacts.
It’s built into FaceTime. Need 3rd party apps for android.
4.3kilos for the Hubbard variety at 56 days is pretty high. I wonder the percent make it to 56 days or they collect early.
Most I saw in US were running 3.4kilos avg at 51 days. If they make it to 53 days they usually have heart failure due to fast growth. Lots of breeding issues.

Most models local or cloud have issues with very long contexts even if they “support” 1M context window.
I’ve tried local models and around 30K context, it starts making up or summarizing content to store it in memory and will not fully reproduce the input.
You could try re-training a local model on a book or implementation of RAG.
I don’t know how latest local models would handle 200k context window but RAG may help keep the memory context clean.
