The entire idea of post-scarcity doesn't withstand the slightest scrutiny. Even if unlimited energy and matter could be summoned by magic, one would be limited by space and the speed of light, and by the threat of black hole formation if too much matter and energy is crammed into too small a region of space. In addition, one's time would be limited by the impending heat death.

Post scarcity means everyone has enough food. Not that we break the laws of physics.

We already have more than enough food for everyone. We just, as a species, choose to let people starve.

Indeed. Which is why we aren't there yet.

AI detectors are snake oil.

Thank you.

Ironically, the above link is a good discussion on biological differences in morbidity, which was the parent comment’s point, and not what I was trying to show.

For differences in healthcare men and women receive, I was after a something like this: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC2096490/

Look long enough and you will always find something to support your claim.

The Wikipedia article on that race is a must-read: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Athletics_at_the_1904_Summer_O...

Our cities are being occuppied by paramilitary forces who are assaulting residents, routinely telling brazen lies about high-profile incidents, and racially profiling without pretense. This is not normal.

These groups exist to observe and document the actions of federal agents and share that information with their communities. That is constitutionally protected activity.

Their stated purpose and their actual function can be different, and speech that would otherwise be free can be illegal if involved in incitement, bribery, collusion, etc.

If I’m having a conversation with my friend, it’s free speech. If we’re plotting the overthrow of the government, it’s insurrection.

An Apple product in which design takes precedence over usability. Imagine that.

It can always get worse, and it has.

Prediction: it will get worse still.

I wish you were wrong but you aren't.

The big question is how far until we bottom out, and what does "recovery" look like. The fact that the political divide has grown so that realities do not converge is rather terrifying.

The scala of possible outcomes here is so broad it is terrifying. The best the rest of the world can hope for is that it will remain contained but I think we are already seeing plenty of evidence that will not be the case.

And the best way is...?

Job ads. It's job ads.

E.g., Henry Kissinger

Kissinger is a horrific one considering some of the things he was behind, and things he said. But he was well in with the right people internationally.
