Though it isn't free, I switched from nvalt to bear app and I've been very happy with it.

Here is the 3blue1brown video that is alluded to in the article: https://youtu.be/jsYwFizhncE

The posted article is by 3blue1brown (Grant Sanderson) himself. Where the article says "Early in 2019, I published a set of three videos about Galperin’s result..." the link is to the playlist https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLZHQObOWTQDMalCO_AXOC... of which the video you posted is the second video. IMO, it's best to watch all three (or at least the first two) together :-)

For others who weren't aware, "embrace, extend, extinguish" was an explicit strategy discussed internally at Microsoft for gaining control of the internet https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Embrace,_extend,_and_extinguis...

Though I think there are real innovations discussed in the article, the portrayal of Microsoft being an altruistic actor trying to get others to adopt their tech is downright dishonest with what we know about their internal discussions of their motivations and strategy at the time.

I found the article really interesting, but I could do without the rose colored glasses.
