I've had good experiences playing a lot of my games but sadly some of them just don't run at all because of anti-cheat BS. It makes me really angry that some companies go out of their way to make sure their games don't run on Linux. I'm glad that at least all of my favorites still run perfectly.
I doubt anything would really happen. I connect old computers to the Internet and sometimes have a habit of forgetting to disconnect them for a bit too long. Nothing eventful has happened so far.
If you're paranoid, I'd just use your phone's hotspot.
Personally, I don't know specifically about building trust, but your average person seems to be more likely to buy a product if a celebrity they like is endorsing it. At the very least, a lot more people are going to /hear/ about whatever product some celebrity is endorsing.
