Sorry you've had that experience. My 2 cents is that unless they've done a "big" (> 5 million) seed or series A they probably don't have the money or appetite for much hiring. So target later stage if you aren't already.
giraffe.build | Senior Frontend Engineer | Full-time | REMOTE or Sydney, Australia
UPDATE: ROLE FILLED
Giraffe is software to design better cities. Like simcity or cities: skylines but the rules, financial constraints and community wants/needs are real!
We're looking for a senior+ javascript engineer to take the app to the next level. We use react, three.js/webgl, mapbox, GIS, valtio, replicache, postgres, django and GCP. We love them all but we aren't married to any of them :)
Bonus points if you have a strong interest in UX, webgl or state management.
Small (~10 employees), bootstrapped and profitable.
Please apply at mikey@giraffe.build with resume/linkedin and why you'd like to work at Giraffe.
A few years ago I was on a small team that did something in a similar space but specifically for internal engineering on the Parramatta light rail project. (dial before you dig style asset detection in the 3d space) + high speed caching layer over arcgis
It's great to see more being done in the 3d browser geospatial space.
Giraffe | Front End | Full-time | REMOTE/Sydney/Hobart
Giraffe is an app for designing better cities. Simple, browser based, 3D drawing on a map. Metrics update live (eg financial, carbon, solar). Generative algorithms automate the boring (eg individual carparks, an avenue of trees).
We're a small (<10), profitable startup, looking for passionate front end developers. We love design, ux and product experience too.
Stack: mostly javascript (react, three, mapbox, webgl), Django, Google Cloud
