Good books from Stephen Few : http://www.stephen-few.com/books.php

You said that you are not a specialist in Data science / ML. Can you tell me what do you consult in?

I am an IT manager but I work a lot with consultants.

My specialities are Data, Dataviz, ETL / ELT tools like Stambia (french solution). And of course, management of a software development team.

I checked out the books you linked me. I have yet to read them, but the titles seem to be pointing to a direction that machine learning / data science is like selling snake oil.

Can you tell me the cases where it holds? I will read the books, but would like a preview of how machine learning / data science can be snake oil.

Sometimes it is interesting to be pragmatic and be sure to provide the right solution i.e that’s fits the real needs of the client.

So I think these books are good to read for the Data culture and be aware that DS / ML are not the only truths / solutions.

I don’t know real books on DS / ML. Only one in french called « Big Data et Machine Learning guide du Data scientist »
