The G7 pairs directly with an Apple Watch and acts as the primary sync device. Unlike the G6, you don’t get null readings displaying on the watch until you open the app. I have the dexcom widget on my Apple Watch series 10 with a G7 paired with direct to watch and it always displays the current reading

That's great to hear that direct-to-watch pairing leads to a reliable reading. That's a big improvement over where things were a year ago. I am surprised that the watch becomes the primary sync device instead of the phone, but maybe that's not actually a problem in most situations.

I wore the G7 briefly, but switched back to the G6 because the long-awaited iOS integration for my pump (Omnipod) only supports the G6 at this time. (otherwise I have to carry around a separate device, which is essentially a dumbed down Android phone)

I believe it’s a limitation of the memory controller on the M4 chip. It can only address 32 gb of ram. Addressing more ram would require more die space

I hope not. This is a parallel product line instead of a successor then. Not what anyone was anticipating or looking forward to.

Apple's on their fourth generation of in-house processors for Macs. By now, the pattern is quite clear: They have several tiers of processor. Not all products offer all tiers of chip. The iMac and MacBook Air have never been offered with anything other than the base M-whatever chip, and the Mac Studio has only been offered with the Max and Ultra processors.

I love this feature in Apple’s ecosystem so much. The newer iOS and iPadOS releases when autofilling a sign-up form even give an option to generate a new hide my email address. It’s effortless to not use your real email. If you pay for an iCloud subscription, hide my email is included. Apple tracks what site you used hide my email on when signing up and allows you to toggle forwarding of emails to your inbox on and off.

It’s also frequently used to price stock options given to employees at publicly traded companies.

Black-Scholes assumes constant volatility and cannot compute option prices without a volatility input.

This volatility is backed out of nearby options prices, often using the formula for European options.

There isn’t any purely theoretical option price because an assumption depends on observed prices.

> You can run DOOM Eternal, building the Stadia that Google couldn’t pull off, because the L40S hasn’t forgotten that it’s a graphics GPU.

Savage.

I wonder if we’ll see a resurgence of cloud game streaming

I feel like Geforce Now has been growing quite steadily, they onboard new titles every week including some big ones like World of Warcraft recently and they've stood up streaming DC's in quite a lot of places now.

GeForce Now is pretty great.

Is it responsive enough to play action games? Noticeable lag is what kept me off of Stadia.

I expected lag and I haven't experienced it beyond an occasional moment like ... once a month maybe. I just attribute that to local internet issues and it stops and I just keep playing.

It is a surprisingly fluid experience.

Is the services that PlayStation Now uses publicly known? That's the only streaming service I've used so far.

As someone who used to work on that platform back when it was still called PlayStation Now, no it is not. There's a few rumors and alleged leaks though.

MS seems to be continuing to push xCloud with Games Pass. It has been useful when playing games with my friends a few times.

Take a look at streamlit as well. It’s got a few weird sharp edges but is really easy to pick up

I like streamlit but found it if gets beyond a certain size it gets very hard to manage.

Also, because FastHTML is powered by starlette, it handles async really well. That means web sockets have been a trivial implementation.

It’s worth noting that companies are testing flu + COVID vaccines as an all in one shot. I think most people don’t want to come to their pharmacy for multiple jabs.

https://www.pfizer.com/news/press-release/press-release-deta...

You can schedule two jabs at your pharmacy, so it isn't that inconvenient. It is much harder with a young child, who...you can get to take one jab but you really aren't going to get two jabs in one sitting. A combined jab would avoid an extra appointment and toy/cheeseburger bribe.

Also, the COVID jab is much harder to take than the flu jab for some reason. I barely notice the flu shot, but for a COVID shot, I actually feel my muscles contracting, and my arm is a bit sore for a week (although nothing beyond a minor annoyance). I wonder what this means for a combined shot.

You can get two or three vaccinations at once provided they don't have any issues with each other. I just got Shingrix and TDAP earlier this week, one in each arm. Pro tip, get the one more likely to cause injection site pain (Shingrix in my case) in your non-dominant arm.

There's a hammer museum in Haines Alaska with similar vibes. Countless different types of hammers.

Is this more safe or less safe than laundering cash the old fashioned way?

Jokes aside, it’s incredible that the FBI could still attribute transactions

unlinking funds will thwart any capital controls

its just a step in a broader goal though, whether you are just creating privacy from competitors or a merchant seeking privacy from their customers, or the customer seeking privacy from the data brokers, or the laundering trying to reintegrate funds that would otherwise be subjected to civil and criminal sanctions

to answer your "joke", if you are starting with illicit cash then getting it to crypto to further unlink is the harder part and fraught with its own paper trails and controls. but if you are starting with crypto earnings like a darknet operator is, then this is more applicable. the addresses on the server should have been funded with monero and never used for clearnet things, just accumulating more crypto from the marketplace to reintegrate back to clearnet addresses or the local fiat currency when desired, if ever.

Not explicitly related to management but good advice. I’ve seen too many people put in a position of power and become assholes. It destroys morale.
