I'm already burnt from amazon Q which was forced onto us in an alpha state in my workplace - was miles behind competitors for a full year, before we finally won the battle to move back to co-pilot.

Going to take a while before I trust any AWS AI related tooling won't just be abandoned / mis-managed after my prior experience.

Is every story on HN relevant for every user?

Many people are running 4k resolution now, and a 4080 struggles to to break 100 frames in many current games maxed (never-mind future titles) - therefore there's plenty of a market with gamers and the 5x series (myself included) who are looking for closer to 4090 performance at a non obscene price.

This is just absolutely false, Steam says that 4.21% of users play at 4K. The number of users that play at higher than 1440p is only 10.61%. So you are wrong, simply wrong.

This is a chicken and egg thing, though - people don't play at 4K because it requires spending a lot of $$$ on top-of-the-line GPU, not because they don't want to.

Did I say all the people, or did I say many people?..

Why are you so hostile? I'm not justifying the cost, I'm simply in the 4k market and replying to OP's statement "Any modern card under $1000 is more than enough for graphics in virtually all games" which is objectively false if you're a 4k user.

To flip the question - any modern card provider will 2fa through an app if the payment is suspicious, so why waste your time manually entering them?

It's the same reason I use a password manager, it's convenient and 2fa exists.

Seemed pretty simple to me and it's not my field.

My understanding was given a prompt X that is normally rejected, create Y variations with small adjustments to phrasing, grammar etc until it gives you the answer you're after.

The term "jailbreaking" used within a LLM context, is when you craft a prompt as to escape the safety sandbox, if that helps.

A sort of brute forcing the prompts if you like.

daveshap quit ai right? got agi pilled/"oneshotted by ayahuasca" as the kids say

He was only gone for a few days, IIRC. At any rate, he's back publishing AI related content again, and it looks like all (?) of his old content is back on his YT channel.

honestly his channel quality is notably different than the other 2 you mentioned. i'm vaguely curious what you get out of it that makes you put him on the same tier.

I think you replied to the wrong person. I didn't put DaveShap on any tier or anything.

That said... I will say that in one of my other replies I did mention that some YT channels in this space can be a bit tabloid'ish, and I may have had Shapiro partly in in mind when saying that. But I still subscribe to his channel and some similar ones, just to get a variety of takes and perspectives.

So when I'm down on my luck I shouldn't be entitled to healthcare?

Living in the UK I'm more than happy to contribute my way in taxes, knowing I'm always looked after regardless of my employment state or wealth.

Additionally we can also pay for American style (private) healthcare, but aren't paying 10x markup on treatment as is the case for America (see Ozempic pricing for example).

American healthcare is one of the worst in the developed world, it shouldn't be celebrated.

> see Ozempic pricing

Let me just take this opportunity to point out that Ozempic is the product of a European company. So you can tell me how American healthcare is absurdly expensive, and how it is much cheaper for you, all while you are the ones making it so damn expensive for us.

Along the same lines, lets hear more about Norway being the shining beacon on the hill, the hero come to save us from climate change, while behind the scenes they finance the entire country by exporting pollution to the rest of the world.

It's really difficult to stomach the hypocritical arrogance of some Europeans. Y'all seem so nice in person, I am hoping a lot of the online rhetoric is just Putin doing his thing.

What's with the title? Doesn't "Show HN: I made a Bluesky video downloader" provide just as much context as the current version in half the words?

That aside congrats on releasing and thanks for making it a free tool, also impressive turnaround time.

How very strange, my partner was mocking up a room for our home just a few hours ago, and I asked whether an AI tool existed to rotate the incorrect angle of a sofa in a photo being used within the mock up - and here it is on hackernews just an hour later, just that tool..

Edit/ apparently I misunderstood it's only possible with vectors - getting close though to the reality mentioned!
