Are we still linking to this snake oil salesman?

We asked you before not to do this. Since you didn't stop, we've banned your account. If you don't want it to be banned, you're welcome to email hn@ycombinator.com.

Another example is Symfony2, which is completely decoupled (not just loosely coupled). Oh but php programmers are bad, am I right HN?

No. PHP programmers aren't "bad", PHP is.

+1 for symfony being the perfect example if you're looking for a completely decoupled framework.

Magento and Shopify backend are awfully slow, it's the language, not the programmers.

Shopify is built on Rails, you know that right?

And Magento is slow for a whole lot of reasons, nine of which are related to symfony.

Magento is slow because it uses EAV

You mean the first version of Symfony (Symfony 1, which was monolithic like Rails), and not the current Symfony (Symfony 2/3) which has nothing to do with the old one other than the name.

I'm aware of that using Rails.

"(the point is that people have confirmation bias even when things are 'easier' to prove)"

You have just summarized "https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Praise_of_Folly" by Erasmus.

I fail to see the point of making that point, sorry.

The Universe is expanding, and some parts will never interact with other parts, because not even light could make the trip. One could say they are now in separate universes. So that's one limit I can think of.

Yeah but that doesn't mean they don't exist? Our universe could be a drop in an ocean of a real multiverse.

Intelligence maybe, but sentience? We haven't made any progress in that. We don't even know if science will ever be able to figure that out. See: the hard problem of consciousness.

Arrest them? They were in freaking Pakistan. Why would you arrest them? You guys are going crazy. Don't be surprised when you travel and realize the world hates you.

He obviously means "send intelligence to the government of Pakistan and ask them to investigate".

Thank you for stating the obvious.

Share information about terrorism suspects, arrest them, bring them to justice. Don't go all Rambo, shooting first, asking questions later. That only perpetuates terrorism - "you killed my innocent parents, I'm shall take my revenge" - and the circle of violence continues.

(Plus, it's already been proven that anyone shot is marked as an "Enemy Killed in Action" posthumously, just to cover the perpetrators asses.)

I already know parts of the world hate me, because I come from the country that engages in drone strikes.

I think the parent means arrest the criminals responsible for killing thousands of people with drones based on a faulty algorithm.

I meant both, in fact.

> Still, all is not yet lost. Despite everything that has happened, in the past few weeks more members of the community have started picking things up from where I am putting them down. Where making an alternative to Core was once seen as renegade, there are now two more forks vying for attention (Bitcoin Classic and Bitcoin Unlimited). So far they’ve hit the same problems as XT but it’s possible a fresh set of faces could find a way to make progress.

> the single-most important issue of our society

I thought that was global warming?

The foundation is just a bunch of suits, whose only function is to educate other suits (eg: law makers). No one controls Bitcoin.

Core is not Bitcoin, it's just one of many clients that follow the Bitcoin protocol. There is no such thing as an "official" client or anything else in Bitcoin.
