I'm with you here. I think Apple should let you install whatever OS you want in the device after the support cycle ended. But that's not gonna happen any time soon. Until then, we jailbreak.

Apple should open their tablets after they stop supporting them.

And what OS would that even be? I’m not aware of any others.

No OS exists because everyone knows it couldn't be installed in the current status quo. Why would anyone do the work of porting $OS to old iPads if they knew it was fruitless? How could they even do it?

Apple needs to step TF out of the way. They sold this hardware, they got their money. Move aside and let people use what they bought.

There's no reason Linux couldn't run on M1 iPads, aside from the fact the bootloader isn't unlockable like on macbooks.

There aren't because non-x86 computers are really poorly standardized. Most x86 PCs probably are capable of natively booting MS-DOS for an IBM 5170 PC/AT but iPhone 17,1 and iPhone 17,2 run completely different images. Efforts like PostmarketOS have no chances of success when literally everything is model subtype specific.

Got it downgraded, and it is a much better experience. It is actually useful, though I have yet to play around and see which apps I can load on this

Update: Downgraded one of the iPads to iOS 6.1.3 (writing from it now). Will try to host a home server on it since I can now SSH into it.

Ok this seems like a great idea. You need to watch/listen everything from the browser though right?

Don't. The video misses out on a lot of key facts from previous governments.

1. It's hard to fit a hundred-year history of a country in a twenty minute video.

2. Are there certain "key facts" that should have been brought up even in the limited allotted time that you can bring up here/now?

In particular, during from early 2007 to late 2015 the inflation index and other economical indicator were cooked https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Institute_of_Statisti... , so a lot of the grow during that period is not real.

Also from 2011 we have an official dollar exchange that is like 30% less than the black market one https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argentine_currency_controls_(2... Note it was lifted in 2015 but it started again in 2019 (It's explained near the bottom, but I can't find a specific article.) This inflated the GDP. We ever cheated in the Big Mac index!
